I have seen this play before, if Tim Finke wants to commit we take him. Tired of getting burned by turning down talented legacy players. I think his game speaks for itself, bringing in another Finke sounds like something good for the program. It sounds like the whole family is supportive of the players.

I can see Tim being a 6'7 Mike Dunluvy type player stroking the 3's. Ill take that.

You're absolutely correct. Anyone not agreeing with this has to be on peyote.

Blasphemy! Unless they've gone downhill. I admit I haven't been in at least 5 1/2 years. :tsk:

If you can afford a $40 steak dinner, TBH is da place to eat!
If you can only afford $15, get the exceptional burger.
A must stop for Indiana folks comming to Champaign.

One could also reasonably say that they are tired of being burned by legacy players...Crandall and Darius both flopped.

This is true. Who was our last legacy that did well? Has there been any in recent memory?

Not true. One should say they are tired of recruits not panning out. DP and Head have zero to do with Tim Finkie and how he will do here. Also a legacy PG in Nebraska would have looked good in orange last year...

Wisconsin has 2 on their roster rated in the top 100 in their class. UI has 6. Recruiting over rated or coaching underrated?

A couple things:

Nigel Hayes was criminally underrated by the recruiting guys, that was pretty apparent from his freshman season. Should have been top 100.

Wisconsin does a great job with player development, that's something that gets overlooked.

They also had one of their top 100 guys at a crucial position, PG. Our top 100 PG was out. As was another top 100 guy in Black. And another top 100 player was a true frosh playing behind our best player.

Top 100 is somewhat of an arbitrary line, Wisconsin gets some guys just outside of that line that just as easily could be just inside of it.

So comparing 6 to 2 is a superficial analysis, if you dig a little deeper then those numbers become less meaningful.

I think Bo was the best in the biz at doing this. We'll see if it continues.

There will always be a part of me that wonders what would have happened if Wisconsin had landed Egwu instead of Kaminsky like they originally wanted.

haha, okay. Didn't his dad only play his freshman year?

His dad graduated from the UI and played multiple sports while there. That's as "legacy" as you can get. IMO

Hopefully, Damonte Williams is next.

Groce and the guys would enjoy a "Moonburger". Moonshine is just south of my hometown.
I was there this week, there ain't nuthin better than a burger from Moonshine store!
Now back to recruiting.....on a full stomach.

Egwu would have been just as dominant defensively. I'd put money Bo could have drilled a legitimate post move or two into his game, but I'm not sure how you coach around those stone hands...
