Late Night in the Phog strikes again. Don't think we have any reason not to accept Marquise Walker's commitment if he wants to make it earlier. Doubt we'll find a pg better than those two for that class.

ps - and just to answer the question I'm sure will come, IMHO, no I don't think Tyger is going to be better than either Marquise or Markese.

Remember when Walker visited earlier and he was all about Illinois. Thought he was going to commit then.

He gave the proverbial polite tweet--"Had a good weekend in Blloom. Thank you Hoosier Nation." Supposedly his Mom didn't make it, I don't know if she was sick or had a hair appointment.:)

I'm not sure if I should start getting my hopes up here. It's getting interesting, that's for sure.

Wait until Wednesday and if Wilkes still hasn't set a commitment date then feel SLIGHTLY more optimistic. If he does set the commitment date soon it will be a good omen for the school with the most recent visit.

This. +infinity

The draw of the home school, w/the storied hoops tradition, is not to be underestimated. Could easily be a deal where Wilkes feels/thinks he can tolerate Clappy.

I wouldn't be real surprised by an announcement date. It has been theorized for a long time that he may not make it to the later two OVs because of the large time gap between the first three and last two. I would be concerned with an immediate announcement this week but anytime after that I think it could be any of the three.

Is he way underrated? I feel like if they were already flirting with the potential to oversign they would only do it for Wilkes. I guess Crean can't Crean anyone unless he has too many players...

Agreed.

Could have been a "if Wilkes doesnt commit on his visit, then you can commit". Or at least thats what I would like to think.

Anybody know UCONN's scholarship situation? I'm shocked more boards don't have dedicated scholarship grids like our boards.

Moore was brought in to assure Wilkes that he won't ever have to play in the post. I mean theres more to it than that, but theres a reason IU made sure to get him on campus the same weekend. A visit that was done on short notice btw.

Bringing in Moore only helps IUs pitch.

Technically they are oversigned by 2 now. But those are just OG and Thomas Bryant. So really not oversigned at all.

So those guys leave after this year and it's even. Adding Wilkes would over by 1? Just a walk in the park for old clappy.

Word is JBJ is done after this year also. Either going to draft or going overseas. Similar to Troy Williams this last year.

Moore won't get any real playing time in the post unless he adds like 20-30 lbs of muscle. I don't see him getting much playing time in his first year or two so I don't think he'll affect Wilkes' position on the court. I don't see his commitment having any positive effect on Wilkes.

He's a top 150 recruit who is 6-10 and over 200 pounds. IU will play him at the 4 before they ask him to play in the post. They have played Hartman in the post he's 6-7 btw.

IU now has 4 guys who will play in the post before Wilkes. Davis, Morgan, Smith and Moore.
