I think it's more likely that Kipper would fill a PF slot than DJW.
Kipper's primary position is the 3. However, he's so versatile, you can play him at the 2 and 4 and still get positive results. I'd rather play him at the 4 than D.J.

If you doubt he can play the 3, remember what Malcolm said recently: "He reminds me of me."

How does Kiir's visit jive with media day? How much of the players and staff's time will be consumed with this going on? We hopefully can get an ackward, but yet beautiful interview from McColley out of the deal.

well im just looking at it as we have 80 mins between the 4 and 5 and as of right now we have 3 players for those 80 mins. with fouls and all the things that happen 10 mins seems almost a given. mins at the 5 would be Tilmon Finke Kiir mins at the 4 Black Finke Kiir who knows really what the coaches are telling him but if we can add him I like our front court for the next 2 years

Fair enough on the 80 minutes, but I think you pencil him in as 4th big behind Finke, Black, & Tilmon, so I don't see him getting a 25% share of 20 min or more. There is an opportunity to find some time though, my guess is something along the lines of the ~8-10 min game that Leonard/Egwu averaged as freshman. I just don't think we win the early playing time argument against VCU that you were responding to.

We absolutely need another big, for depth, for 2019 when both Black & Finke are gone, but that is a different topic.

I wonder if Eastern is being slowed played by MSU, or didn't like being the 2nd or 3rd option in that class.

MSU is all in on Tugs Bowen. Anybody other than him is not Sparty's first option on the wing in 2017. But the crystal balls for Eastern are still 100 percent MSU, so there's that. I guess Bowen can play the 3 and Eastern can play the 2.

With Tilmon being a Frosh, he could only average about 20 Minutes a game because of Foul trouble. With Black's history of fouling I could see Finke and Black Splitting minutes 20/20 at the 4 spot. That could leave 20 Minutes for Kiir backing up Tilmon. We don't want Finke or Black playing any minutes as a Center if possible and if Kiir is good enough to step right in. So IMO there are plenty of early minutes for Kiir if he can Rebound, Block Shots and play post Defense against bigger players. It something that Black and Finke would have a difficult time doing also. That would keep Kipper and D.J. Williams at the 3 unless a miracle happens and Illinois can steal Wilkes.

A good argument for Kiir coming here is that he would be competing in the best BB conference in the country. Develope against 4&5 star bigs and don't worry about early playing time.

My tailor's nephew is the gas station attendant where Wilkes's gardener gets his gas. Apparently, the gardener happened to mention yesterday that Wilkes made a joke about becoming the next Harry Turtledove if the basketball thing doesn't work out. Wilkes is big on alternate timeline historical fiction. Turtledove, of course, went to...UCLA. Not sure if it means anything.

Come on, who hasn't heard that? The guy asked for news.

Well we have got a shot. I feel like we are always coming in 2nd in these bigtime recruitments, but eventually we have got to win one. Part of me thinks that after all the time he has spent at IU he still isn't convinced, then maybe he is ours and is just looking for the right time/reason to justify it.

I honestly think him cutting the list and cancelling visits is a bad thing. Seems he may be set on IU if he doesn't want to look around anymore, but who knows.
