Given their scholarship situation, why hasn’t Castleton gone ahead and committed to Michigan to secure himself a spot? Is sticking to his planned announcement date that big of a deal?

This whole “named them his leader” thing suggests to me that they weren’t ready to accept his commitment just yet.

Regardless of how it plays out between CC and UM, seems our bridge has been burned.

I think we've all but got Liddell already. Okoro will be harder. Bring those two in and no one will worry much about bigs.

If recruiting has taught us anything, by now, it's gotta be that no recruit is ever, "in the bag" already.

Especially when his AAU coach is pushing for him to wait out the process and see if the big boyz get involved!

They are already as far as I know. He holds a Kansas offer so there is a start.

Where did you get that about his AAU coach?

He may well have told them, but also asked them to let do the announcement, which of course they would honor.

It does seem strange he would tip his hand and name them the leader --but maybe it was just a good interviewer trying to get him to show his hand.

As a parent, those are some screwed up priorities. Miss two days of class to be home for the weekend? Not at my house.

Does anybody in your house have a chance at playing professionally? Are they an Illinois lean?

I would agree that he probably already knows, but he could make three different videos and still be able to lend some legitimacy to the UGA OV.

That's a very good point. I hadn't thought of that.

Meh.. He's been to Mizzou 2 or 3 times since C. Martin took over. I hope we win that one but Martin getting all these metro east kids (and he may likely be adding c. ramsey to that bunch) is going to be tough to beat.

Yes, furthermore, the Liddell recruitment is just going through initial stages, expect more schools to be involved as time progresses, especially if he improves throughout the season.

If the unthinkable happens, and we miss out on these upcoming targets, do we revisit Tim Finke, or has that ship sailed? It'd be pretty special to see two brothers playing on the same court for us.

It would be more special to land the best players we are going after.

All depends on whether the staff still thinks he has what it takes to play at this level. Clearly a backup plan to the backup plan at this stage.

If he does so, it would likely be after his OV to Georgia, or else his final 2 would have to include Georgia...

Only a guess, but I bet he works the final 2 into the same announcement where he announces where he commits

Ehhi i've learned to not take all of these things too seriously. The first recruiting class by Brad shows they can recruit. Show me results and I'll show you the recruits

"(Michigan and Illinois) are my final two,” he later added. “I have schools trying to contact me, but it's just too late in the process. I am going to decide this week. Hopefully I am going to decide this week. I am not sure of the date, but I am looking forward to actually deciding this week figuring out some plans to see what I can do to (announce it)."

Lol... How many kids have said that about Illinois only to go somewhere else for better opportunities.

Saw these in the recruiting section of SFC trophy case.

I would still like to see Tim at Illinois too but his recruitment has been on the low low low down since summer.
