I'm more than ready to see some Illini BB and start getting excited about the return to top 25 status again....Recruiting has consumed me to the point I am numb,,,Just got roku and can't wait to see my team kick some butt....I think we will surprise a lot of people this year and make the dance...

Illinois is 35-11 in the NCAA tournament since 2000 and hasn't been to the NCAA tournament since 2013.
Wake Forest is 6-7 in the NCAA tournament since 2000 and hasn't been to the NCAA tournament since 2010.

Neither program has been competing for an NCAA Championship for a few years.
They're all full of crap over there on their board.

It's especially entertaining, because they're playing - to the letter - the role that is normally reserved for us in almost every major recruiting battle we've had over the last ~10 years.

Accusations of money changing hands, coming up with scenarios for why the Crystal Balls are 100% wrong, trying desperately to read tea leaves and Twitter follows/RTs, pleading everyone around for positive vibes....I know this disease.

Their board is pretty funny to read. At least they are a Power 5 school in a good conference with a history of intermediate success. So it's easier to listen to them bag on us that is was listening to VCU fans arguing that their program is better than ours. It's pretty clear that they view their own program how we view our own. And that they view our program how we view theirs. Pretty interesting stuff. Personally I'd say the programs are pretty evenly matched. The only bad thing for Wake is that they are in the same state as UNC and Duke, making them the third best basketball school in their state.

It's pretty ironic that in back to back years, we have a noncon matchup with a school we are in a recruiting battle with and that battle has spilled over into the internet.

Hey Wake guys, how bout you just recruit guys from your own state and we'll recruit guys from our state and we'll see who ends up in a better place! Good luck with the decision and good luck on the last Tuesday of November!
