The only bad thing for Wake is that they are in the same state as UNC and Duke, making them the third best basketball school in their state.

You're forgetting about NC State. And for those of us who sports bet, E Carolina will forever be in my heart over the last few years. I wasn't even sure where Wake Forest was. But as I looked it up I found out their entire enrollment is smaller than one graduating class here.

It's especially entertaining, because they're playing - to the letter - the role that is normally reserved for us in almost every major recruiting battle we've had over the last ~10 years.

Accusations of money changing hands, coming up with scenarios for why the Crystal Balls are 100% wrong, trying desperately to read tea leaves and Twitter follows/RTs, pleading everyone around for positive vibes....I know this disease.

"Woke Forest": adjective. A state of perceived intellectual superiority in regards to recruiting information.

sentence: Illinois must be paying off the recruit. You all need to stay Woke Forest.

To any of you WF morons reading our board, Ayo followed them on Instagram not twitter, and Mark Smith went from a Mizzou baseball commit to a Illinois Mr. Basketball averaged 28/8/8 his senior year only focusing on bball and chose Illinois and BU over the likes of Kentucky, Michigan St. and Duke. Mark pitching "best backcourt in america" is very realistic if you add in Damonte Williams, Trent and Tejon. and before you say "Damonte is a 3 star blah blah" he was a top 60 recruit until he tore his ACL, and he knows a lot about basketball from his dad...Frank Williams :D

No reason for name calling :tsk:, but yes, the rest looks good! :thumb:

It didn't make me feel any worse. Compared to some homer articles, it really was not that bad.

Their pros are.. time and players who haven’t ever played a game of college basketball yet.

Illinois probably has the best pro- home.

I don’t believe this is just a “coin flip” either.

Thanks guys. That is juicy stuff!

This Biff guy is amazing! His posts are making my day.

Also enjoying all the talk about bringing Wake back to the glory days. All I want to do is bring Wake back to December 4, 2004.

I would have to say my favorite part over there is they know where the U of I is, and where Chicago is, I have no idea where Wake is and i'm old

Mostly because I just don't care where it is

Let's invite Biff to join our board once we get Ayo.

The only Biff that can ever live on Illini boards is Biff the Usher.

Plus, the Wake Biff seems to disrespect sweet corn. Just seems anti-American to me.

- 12 Crystal Ball picks - all for Illinois (probably the cleanest Crystal Ball I've seen)

- Piper is at 9/10 on the confidence meter (not premium info, he said it on the radio this morning)

- Joe Henricksen has said he believes we get Ayo

Illinois recruiting predictions are officially worthless if we lose this one.

When I moved to Winston-Salem, I made sure to put a picture of the Illinois v WF game from 2004 up in my office. I thought for sure it would make for some fun conversations with Wake fans. I assumed there were a lot more WF fans in Winston-Salem than there really are. I think I have had 1 comment in the last 10 years I have lived here. With that being said, the Wake fans I have met are cool. I root for them over UNC and Duke all day, every day.

Interesting...WF is a good school and I don't say this with any disrespect, but I've never met a single WF alum. I've never even seen a Wake license plate holder, bumper sticker, or shirt. I know tons of Duke and NC alums. They're everywhere.

To be fair, Illinois alums are really quiet these days. For my first decade out here (Bay Area), I saw Illinois alums everywhere. We've gone underground though.

To any Wake fans that might be lurking. I like your stove pipe hats, please send me one.

Expecting everyone in Winston-Salem to root for Wake Forest is like expecting everyone in Chicago to root for Northwestern. Having lived in North Carolina, my experience is that WF has a fan base about as big as Northwestern's and is similarly disregarded by the general public.
