For any IU fans still out there, how do you think Wilkes would feel about the talent around him (at other positions) in '17?

I think he's pretty happy with the talent he will have around him. Gonna have a sophmore top 50 big as his C. Juwan Morgan will be our 4. And he's ready to start already. Robert Johnson will be the 2 guard and he's been exceptional already. His PG will either be tremor Waters highly valued recruit. Or a 5th year Josh Newkirk.

With quality players coming off the bench in Curtis Jones, Freddie McSwain and potentially Collin Hartman.

Basically IU will be deep. Wilkes is important because he will be our X Factor guy.

I think Wilkes will end up at IU if his family can get by the negative feelings about Crean.

Great article, thanks for sharing. Love Pickett's quotes about being under the radar and trying to prove himself. Wishing him a great senior season with many well-deserved accolades and am looking forward to him representing the O&B.

Second this. Don't think he's 6' 4" though.

Universally, to the best of my recollection, serious player injuries are disclosed. Dude K, ACL. Abrams, ACL. Ad naseum. Zilch from IU. Conspiracy theory?

Player can Ok it. JBJs family for example didn't allow it Maurice Creeks did allow it so they eventually disclosed it.

Did anyone see the Bleacher Report video of the tour of the Kansas basketball complex? How in the world can anyone out recruit that absolutely insane. Most ridiculous thing I've ever seen I had the time of my life in a 10x10 room with a bunk bed I can't imagine this.

5* 6'10" PF Billy Preston has IU in his final 5 and recetnly had Crean into visit him. They are working on an OV, with Hoosier Hysteria being a possibility.

Fun fact: That "kid" is going to be 20 before his freshman season even begins, while we have Te'Jon who looks like he just got his permit.

Is this still like Kentucky's dorm where it's also "open to the general student body" (aka the basketball managers and 12 carefully vetted sorority girls) or has the NCAA even dropped that canard at this point?

This is a way to pay their athletes, we all can see that. But what sucks is that these kids would be so, so much better served by living among their collegiate peers and receiving this money in cash or better yet in an annuity and lifelong scholarship and healthcare commitment.

Even for the general population, there is always differentiation on who gets to be on the "better" dorm or who gets the better dormroom. Building amenities for athletes is not something new, many schools are already doing it (e.g., Kentucky, OSU, Kansas, etc.) and many more are planning for it. Paying athletes cash? That will create a huge class system within schools and athletes. Lifelong healthcare commitment? Huh? And the money for all that will come from where? The long term incremental cost of providing for all that far exceeds the cost of building a $10M dorm.
