He's moved up on ESPN as well, so this bump might actually be enough to get him inside the consensus top 100. Will have to check the 247 composite once they update.
It looks like the composite has been updated. For the sake of completeness, here's everyone we've offered that's uncommitted (a lot of these we're either out of or seemingly no longer pursuing) or committed to us:

017. Brian Bowen (-2)
018. Kris Wilkes (-)
022. Jaren Jackson (+2)
025. Jeremiah Tilmon (-2)
030. Paul Scruggs (-2)
058. Jacob Epperson (NEW)
070. Nojel Eastern (-3)
076. Justin Smith (+1)
084. Victor Bailey (-)
093. Xavier Tillman (-1)
095. Christian David (-2)
103. Trent Frazier (+5)
107. DaMonte Williams (-5)
134. Abu Kigab (-20)
137. Thomas Allen (+92)
145. Mayan Kiir (+3)
159. Jarrett Culver (+2)
171. C.J. Roberts (+4)
178. Theo John (-41)
180. Victor Uyaelunmo (-48)
189. Alonzo Verge (+13)
217. Christian Negron (+9)
229. McKinley Wright (-55)
235. Javon Pickett (+3)

Apparently, Justin Smith is going to visit Indiana. There is just something about an Illinois player going across the border that ruffles my feathers (that's the least expletive phrase I could think of). Jeff Borzello on Twitter said the Hoosiers seem to have some momentum in that recruitment.

If we got Wilkes I would quickly get over it though.

Sigh....losing out on Wilkes and then Smith going to Indiana would normally would be cause for a melt down around here. We've progressed. The '17 class is on point (or Lit as my players would say)
What recruits (hopefully bigs) are visiting after Wilkes?

Getting back to Smith, I totally understand the appeal of playing for IU. What I don't understand is playing for Clappy the jerk. To each his own, I guess. Big sad that Clappy's striking out with the elite Hoosier '17s. Can't make the fanbase happy.

Wilkes, epperson and smith should be all that is recruited for 17. If jg get none, then roll over. Hard to believe a top 30 visit was cancelled and top 130 is still active. That composites shows just how average the class is at this time. Hopefully Frazier and Williams show how the rankings are flawed.

I'm wondering where Goodwin is now and whether he dropped for having chosen lowly SLU?

I agree it's a very short list. Add Kiir to it. He's taking his ACT soon. OV should be set soon. Victor U's worthy, but headed elsewhere.

FWIW, I disagree with your assessment that the class is average.

IU currently has 0 spots for 2017 open. Now that could change of course if O.G. and/or Bryant go pro and or someone else is "creamed". Still, IU needs to leave slots open for Scruggs and or Wilkes. I just don't see IU pulling the trigger on Smith right now.

I don't want to know what this version of creaning entails.

Any updates on how Tilmon is doing with the shoulder injury? Is he back already? Close to it?

If you look at the timing of Wilkes' visits us (this weekend), UCLA (in 2 weeks) and Indiana (3 weeks) then there is basically a month of time before he is scheduled at Xavier (end of Oct) and UConn (Early Nov). Xavier has an in-home scheduled for Sept 13th. So it is quite possible he only takes the first 3 visits and decides. I just don't know if I see this going all the way until after his UConn visit in Nov. At a certain point most kids want to get a decision and be able to focus on their senior season.

Maybe, but Crean has never been shy of oversigning. Didn't he also pull a scholarship on someone before they showed up? So what about taking Smith's commitment, then if Wilkes & Scruggs commit telling Smith and/or there 2017 pg recruit, sorry, but we were just kidding.

He would do that in a heartbeat and not shed a tear.

I do not think it will happen (pulling the trigger on Smith) but not because of scholarship numbers. IU has their eyes on Wilkes and a very good chance. So they will wait. Furthermore, it is very doubtful that Smith would like to play on a team with Wilkes in the SF position. If Smith commits to IU before Wilkes, it would mean that IU's chances with Wilkes were not good anymore. But right now, I am hearing that Wilkes will definitely take his visit to IU.
