It shouldn't be Whitman's decision, it should be Underwood's.
Just reading the room here, I suspect I'm going to find myself in the majority by this evening in saying Jamall Walker's utility has expired.
Recruits don't play for Jamal Walker.

Guessing we have a 50%-50% chance of getting him, but there's only a 10% chance of that...
It's no ill will toward Walker. We are in dire need of a re-calibration of the recruiting process, that is going to require an open chair, and that's the chair that costs us the least to open.
Walker may not be a great recruiter but let's not pretend here that our recruiting failures and inability to close on multiple recruits is the sole result of Walker's inability. An open chair will hardly change much, especially given that the other chairs are occupied with assistants with national reputation (i.e., Orlando).
They've been recruiting like they agree with your overarching viewpoint on college basketball, they need to change and agree with me
The guys we lost this year, in our back yard are Walker guys
Jitobah is a bit intriguing although he is, as you say, a very big lumbersome #5. He's definitely not Plan A. However, with some help from Fletch, he might be a nice piece. The school he's attending, Hamilton Heights, also appears to be one we should stay connected to.Jitobah is a very big lumbersome #5....don't want him in this system at all, waste of a scholarship imo, Payton was ranked higher now is not, should tell us all we need to know, and Walker would be the best get out of the three which is worrisome to say the least.
My favorite thing about being an Illini fan is seeing the new names pop up when they are around Freshman-Sophomores and getting all the rumors that they are Illini locks only to see them slowly peel away. I think my favorite more recent ones was locking up Rose and Gordon, or maybe Parker and Okafor.
If there were a bronze or silver medal awarded for recruiting, Illini have to be the best in the country. It isn't even close either.
Oh well, we have winners this season...that should beat talent. belch.
Since we missed on EJ, maybe we can get a bench player on a state championship team late in the game.
Sorry, ole ward is grumpy today. Momma isn't feeling well and her chores went to me. So that makes my 80 year old bones ache...
The good news is there will be a new batch of hopefuls popping up soon. Maybe walker can get to know some 4th graders and get in earlier...maybe that's the problem?
My prediction is ej stays home. He has that loyalty!
I can agree with that. We need a bigtime national recruiter.
Nail in the Illini coffin....Two more tOSU CB's this afternoon, including Evan Daniels.
Book it!!!EJ to Illinois, Brea to Illinois, Oscar to Illinois after Kentucky...TSJ parents fight it out and he ends up here also in the end
