Was going to post a few days ago that Epps seemed due for a jump with all the impressive performances against top completion he's been putting up. Rodgers is top 50 in some ratings services and has put up great numbers all year. Surprised no movement on Harris since he's been dominating recently against what I assume is top Ohio competition and team is currently ranked #1 in their division so not like he doesn't get exposure.

to be a Hilltopper, is to be number 1! ;) I've been waiting a looooong time to say that about hoops.
I haven’t followed high school hoops as closely this fall as I have in the past. I called my dad and told him that they were ranked no. 1 in the state and he couldn’t believe it.

Between me and my three older sisters, he probably saw every football, basketball, and baseball game over a 15 year period. Football and baseball was good, but it was a lot of mediocre to bad teams he watched in basketball. I think they finally have some good coaching to go along with good talent.

To think the best basketball coach that was at Glenbard West never coached there, but was one of the school admins/deans...Mr. Bill Hitt (coached Proviso East two two state championships when Michael Finley and a few other stars were there).

He grew up with my dad and his mom was one of my dad’s teachers. They would watch the basketball games when he was at GW and just shake their heads.

Claude to Xavier. Along with Ward, and Judah probably next. Nice group of guards.

They got Kam Craft coming in too. Might be the best of the bunch, wish we would have recruited him harder.

I did hear that Mintz will not be taking that visit to Xavier after they took Claude today ... His camp was not happy to say the least.
Agree. Didn’t understand why we weren’t interested. Watched him grow up. Used to play with my son.

I saw him play in Decatur and he is all of 6'6"and possibly 6'7". He is a very good strong athlete whose best attributes are superior passing ability and strong handle for a guy his size and with a strong body. He is an active player but we saw almost no shooting and he really deferred on offense, like a pass-first PG, in the game we watched. He was the primary player who brought the ball up the floor and initiated the offense. He has the skills (handle/height/body) to be great at driving the ball but I echo concerns I have seen about shooting ability (albeit for lack of evidence mostly)
Ty sounds like another Draymont Green. Now if we can just come up with Stephan Curry (Jayden?) and Klay Thompson (Sencire). Wait - is that Brad's plan - Turn Coleman Hawkins into Kevin Durant?????

Have no idea how tall Ty Rodgers is, but in view of today's efforts to exaggerate in every way as well as virtually no player measuring at his college listed height when measured by the NBA, my best guess is 6'6 5/8". Why this is done I can offer no reasonable idea. If I were a coach, I would list all my players 2-4 in. shorter. Then when a cocky team expects a bunch of midgets to show up, they look up to look you in the eye. That is far more intimidating.

I've wondered this exact same thing for many many years. Makes zero sense to me why heights are so exaggerated. In high school maybe I get it, but in college it just seems silly.

I'd list Kofi at 6'9" max, and then see opponents freak out when they stand next to him.

😁

I kinda think the opposite. Preferred walk on just means that you're not going to get a scholarship but the coach is guaranteeing you a spot on the team as opposed to trying out.

Not sure what it all means for the training table etc.
Walk-on’s means you try out for that position. preferred means you are allocated a spot.

..... maybe it isn't all about Chicago! They can play ball in other states & countries. Glad our vision has widened.
We'd rather have the top guys in Chicago more times than not. What Underwood has shown is that he won't go down with the ship on those guys and is more than willing to look elsewhere. Weber and Groce spent too much time on instate guys we couldn't land, and then we had to settle for plan C and D type guys.

Underwood has shown he can land the plan Bs, and with all the talent out there, plan B guys are really good.

What's the situation with JJ Taylor? Is there any chance we can land him?
