Definitely will need to be a group effort between Epps,Podz, potential transfer, Hutch(if he's back and can stay on the court). Probably would be tough to expect Rodgers to be ready for that role as a freshman but would be amazing if can definitely has the ability.
Belo ?!

Am I weird for preferring Ames over Boswell?
Yes. I think Ames is great and I would love to have both, but Boswell is exactly what Underwood wants in a PG. A dog defensively, great shooter, and crafty floor general.

If Ames could grow to 6'4" he'd be a great 2G. I'd take him right now regardless, but Boswell is pretty clearly the better of the two.

That is under the assumption that those who choose the roster for this game are better at rating players than the ratings services, which... maybe.
well, as I said "indication", not proof.

The game itself could be telling. Although I wonder how many guys bail on these. The post season Illinois all star game has often seen the best players decline.

he's from Champaign, left about 3 years ago to California. I believe he has only been in AZ this year for school.
I've been wondering, does anyone know if he has an older brother? I went to middle school with and played pee-wee football against a Julian Boswell in Champaign in the aughts.

Heard secondhand from a source on the Compass team that Boswell is an AZ lean. But like always, the recruitment isn't over until its over.

Potentially related (or not), my uncle the more-than-40-years U of Arizona booster tells me that NIL fundraising has gone amazingly well.

I know that sometimes these "all-star" games aren't truly as elite as the names imply. Not so this one. Here are the 247 rankings for the players. 8 out of the top 10 players. 17 out of the top 25. Rarified air for Epps.

If you're looking for an indication that he's underrated by the services, this invite would be a good one.

Bailey 2
George 4
Whitehead 5
Nick Smith 6
Livingston 7
Wallace 8
Walker 9
Ware 10
Miller 11
Phillips 12
Mitchell 13
Traore 15
Morris 19
Whitmore 20
Black 22
Dior Johnson 23
Rice 25
Reed 35
Howard 37
Lands 47
Kohler 65
Epps 71
Edwards 101
Great post. Good info.

In hindsight, it would have been nice to have picked up Morgan Park alum Charlie Moore as a grad transfer, for the sake of having PG depth this season. And I'm not playing around mentally with # of roster spots; just musing that it's nice to have more than one true PG on the roster. Moore is averaging 12 pts, 4 ast and shooting 40% for 3pt% at Miami.

Looking forward to Epps, and will be very content if we sign two PGs from the 2023 class. (I also think Podz has some PG potential)

I think it’s probably safe to say AZ has a slight edge right now. But it is very close.

I was told that Brad & staff are very confident that the OV will push him over the edge and he will end up here.

AZ NIL is good, but so is ours 😉 Kofi sure does enjoy his 2022 GMC Yukon among many other perks.

I think there's definitely a huge difference between a "bad decision" and a decision that doesn't work out. This one just hasn't worked out. He didn't have any injury issues in his first two years so there's nothing to suggest that this would have been expected.

It's pretty easy for me to trust BU on this one. If they see value in keeping him on the roster, great. If they want to move on, great.

From his perspective, it's not unlikely that he tries out for some professional opportunities. He's almost 24. If he truly has some professional ability, he might be best served starting that right now. If he's wowing insiders in practice, he may very well get some opportunities.
Could someone explain what a sports hernia is, how it is repaired and whether Hutch has had that procedure yet?
