I realize that getting that final visit is important in several ways...you can take into account the campus setting, training facilities, NIL, fan base, etc etc....but I really think the thing that will sell Boswell or any other 5* recruit is showing him how he's going to be used and fit into your teams immediate plans....show him that he can spend a year or two in O&B and make it to the next level....maybe even a first or second round pick....would be great if Ayo could be available to have a chat with Mr. Boswell this Saturday
Hope he isn't because that would be a recruiting violation.

I've been saying this forever. I think Rodgers will be the Damonte everyone wants, but they also have him listed as a 53% FT shooter.

People need to realize Rodgers is bigger, stronger, and more athletic that most of his opponents. Makes it much easier to put up gaudy numbers. However still needs to work on his shooting. He will likely begin his career as a garbage man, playing tough defense, rebounding, and scoring on drives or putbacks.
If he accepts his role, I love that kind of player.

His ability to get to break down defenses and get to the basket at will against high-level competition is exactly what we need. Combine that with his shooting/passing ability is very encouraging to see. That's been the biggest hole we have on the team hopefully once Belo gets back to full speed that gets fixed a bit for this year but we've needed that basically since Frank was roaming the court. Hope RJ can develop that slashing ability as well.

Don't know, but he has a short neck, which is good. Long necks on basketball players are useless height.

I feel like if Boswell does reclassify as a 22', it'll be a lot harder to land him since Curbelo is definitely still going to be here next year.
I can't see him doing that if he has narrowed his choices to two schools. Your point on Curby, and AZ has a ton of guards next year.

NBA GM: "Lottery picks are typically resilient. Tell me about a time you faced adversity."
Boswell: "I played for Illinois even though they had one of their guard positions locked down by Andre Curbelo my Freshman year."
*Buzzes Secretary, whispers into intercom*
"Yeah, can you tell him Mom to come pick him up? Interview is over."

Kylan Boswell's Mom is going to be a bit tougher sell when it comes to choosing IL over AZ. Mom's that are a major part of their boy's life want to be at the games. I remember Dee Brown's Mom (Maywood, IL) in the stands a bunch, but I also remember Deron William's Mom (Texas) in the stands a lot too. IL athletic dept has to make this part work.

Likewise have said the warrior dmw would be soooo good if he was 6’6” or 6’7”. Would fill a couple of holes in our lineup. He is good at his height but asked or expected to do so much

Looking forward to seeing Rodgers in o&b as
He develops.

Again they are from Champaign and only moved to the West Coast to get him a better prep experience. If Boswell came to U of I its probably close to 100% that his parents would come back with him.

Rodgers, Goode (for the most part), and RJ are not guards. Curbelo is probably not going to be here when Boswell gets here for his freshmen year. This leaves Harris, Podz, and Epps of which two are primarily SGs, not PGs.
I think we get too tied up with names sometimes. I would regard Goode and Melendez and Rodgers as wing players. Call them a 2, if you wish but I would tend to call them a 3. Boswell is such an elite player that any place he chooses to go would likely have a strong roster of guards.

Dee averaged 5-6 apg his 4 years at Illinois similar to Ayo.

Deron average 5-7 apg (7 his jr year)

the two PG lineup can defintely work.

I seem to remember Dee suggested they sign Augustine.
Augustine was from the Suburbs Lincoln Way and you also had Powell who played at Joliet. They played against each other in conference play. Also Dee being from Proviso helped too. Dee and Augustine always seemed close
