247Sports: At his best, Curbelo is an electric playmaker with immense speed and athleticism that allows him to blow past defenders. At his worst, he makes some head-scratching decisions that lead to baffling turnovers or forced shots. The most consistent aspect of Curbelo’s game is his defense. He is one of the best on-ball defenders in the entire nation despite flying under the radar when it comes to recognition. Curbelo would fit perfectly on a team that plays a lot of man defense and puts an offensive onus on winning 1-on-1 matchups.

- Not sure where defense comment came from. Andre gambled too much for steals, could not lock people down like Trent or DaMonte
- He was terrible shooter last year both from three and mid range

Last year I would have totally agreed with you. I thought he did great in that regard this year, though much smaller sample size.

His Freshman season his offensive box plus minus was 1.7 and his defensive box plus minus was 4.2.

There was a time during our 3-month assistant coaching search last year where I was getting legitimately nervous. It felt like it could be another instance of us climbing so close to the peak of that mountain only to tumble back down again. Thankfully, BU and JW are incredible talent scouts and brought in, I'm not sure it's even arguable anymore, better assistants that can recruit their butts off. I'm incredibly excited about this year's recruiting class and I can't wait to see what else they have up their sleeves.
