Desperate IU fan alert. Everyone is rebuilding, but thoughts on Iowa and Wisconsin considering they have very poor 2022 classes?

People spending NIL money are generally doing it on star players for their teams, and Whitmore would have to play a bit before attaining that, hyped though he may be. Highly touted but unproven freshmen don't move product like a 2x All-American.
Point taken👍

I come on here to read actual recruiting news not if the queen had balls she’d be a king or if I found $1 million would that make me a millionaire
I actually agree with you a bit about having to sift through some of the stuff here. But that's how it works. No sense complaining.

If you want "news", like stuff that actually happened, click on the home page. If it's truly big and not speculative, Dan will have a post about it. Then you don't have to suffer through all this.

You can also go to GoDaddy and get actualillininews.com for cheap and start your own site.

But you haven’t even given them a chance yet. What happened to developing kids, investing in them before you grab someone that not only may take their spot but the resources you promised them to develop?

Sounds a bit shady to me.
I can't argue. Like I said, I'm conflicted. But the other half of player development is that players have to stick around for a few years to see that payoff. And honestly, I'm so thirsty for a FF/NC that if it requires recruiting over some of my favorite players, that's a bitter pill I'm willing to swallow.

I don't like it, but watching someone play and develop for four years at a single school is getting increasingly rare.

Tell that to UT's most recent QB commit...

The times, they are a changin'

Wouldn't say it's speculation when his people were reaching out to other programs ...
This may be a naive question, but if the players and recruits were informed of the Jay news last night, how do Cam and his people go from reaching out to other programs (Illini/ Chester included?), to things being smoothed over with Nova the following morning?

Seems to be a common downside with a lot of players this cycle. What’s in the water these days??
Is it though? We landed the Brothers Clark this month. We are the only team with two 2024 (potential 2023 reclasses) commits presently.

If we have learned anything from the transfer portal era, it moves fast and violently. Whiplash is a concern for a lot of posters.

It has certainly made the offseason much less of a bore. BU said there were 1,300 names in the portal yesterday and a few weeks ago it was at 900.

Every time a player enters the portal, a different player gets deposited to a DII, DIII or NAIA campus somewhere.
