#1 ranked for 2024 Naas Cunningham is going to Overtime Elite but not taking a salary... sticking with NIL income so he can keep his eligibility for college... an interesting new wrinkle to NIL...Also Brandon Gardner said he is focusing on Auburn and St. Johns currently... St. Johns has some recent mojo for some reason...

Great a recruiting service has him listed as a PF. College coaches have him as a 5
Don't think he will be the best defender at 4. Might even be tough for him to play 4 in the league. Personally, I distinguish the position more based on defense.

OSU had good success without a big body and Dain’s 7’7” wing span will allow him to be as effective at rim protection as Kofi. Probably need to play Edey differently but Edey can’t guard him. Must be a reason the NBA teams play 5 out and most of the other conferences don’t have the wide body center.
It is a bit presumptive to think that all you need is wing span to replace Kofi. There certainly a lot more to Kofis physical presence in the lane than his wing span. Especially when we have not even see Dain play. I am optimistic too but a realist as well. I still hope we can add a big man in the portal with not just length but other skill sets too. I am very curious to see who we look at and will add. I certainly expect to add a proven 5 in the portal given the programs improvement and the minutes available with Kofi leaving.

Dickey Simpkins would like a word with you.
We were playing in the NIT a few years back and Simpkins was doing color for ESPN. The PBP guy introduced him as “three-time World Champion Dickey Simpkins” and I think I didn’t stop laughing until halftime.
