Well you would be wrong soooooo idk what to tell you
Remember every transfer you bring in is going to take minutes from the players already there. You might lose some players by bringing in transfers.

Are we ever going to actually land a transfer??
The thing is. We swapped out AM/GB for AP/OP. Here’s how it worked out.

Combined (AM/GB)
Mpg=40mpg
13.4/5.5/1.2
FG=119/276- 43%
3pt=55/159~ 35%

Combined (OP/AP)
MPG- 37.6
16.4/4.2/1.3
FG- 175/397~ 44%
3PT- 98/240~ 40%

Defensive metrics and +/- favor the AM/GB combo. While the offense of the OP/AP is better. The defense of AM compared to AP really made the difference. We have a lot that needs replaced. If we can find 16/4 on 40% three point shooting that would be great. But we have a lot more needs this season compared to last year. We need more than 16/4 out of the portal imo.

We don’t have a true 5. That’s the glaring spot I’d like to see addressed. That said, I don’t know much about Dain, if Brad is comfortable with him at the five we just need to add depth.

Players might transfer regardless. Players will transfer regardless. The offseason goal for any coaching staff should be to fill the open roster spots with guys who will give the team the best shot at winning in the upcoming season(s). If a transfer makes that happen and causes someone else with less positive impact on winning to leave in the process, I don't see the problem.

Just win, baby!

Some people should read the below tweet again...the last week for players to enter the transfer portal without needing a waiver to play immediately
Any player who enters the portal after the deadline, will have to sit a year unless they get a waiver. So if we sign a transfer or two next week, and any current players don't like it. They can transfer, but they will more then likely have to sit the season out!

BU and Co. continue to get chewed up and spit out in this year's portal... Please come back, Jacob Grandison....

There's the Loyalty Loonies strange takes!

Like do we really feel the need to take every player that enters the portal that had some past recruiting connection to Illinois? I'm pretty sure the staff doesn't.

LOL. Of the players ranked 4 stars in the portal by Verbal Commits, 49 have found new teams and 79 have yet to decide. Since you are a baseball fan, this like saying the game is over because you are down a run in the 3rd inning. The portal isn't even closed for new additions yet!
