Every kid is different.

I don't think Duke has the "cache" it had 10 years ago. They were national champions in 2009 and 2014. These recruits were not even born in 2019. They went Final Four last year. Calipari at KY has proven that it is very hard to win with a bunch of 5 star one and dones. Their last championship was 2012.

I think most kids just want a path to NBA. Win in college, get some NIL money and not play for a crazy coach. Ideally player friendly offense.

If we can stack B10 titles and get more success in tourney, we have a great staff and facilities - I think our recruiting will be fine. Trust in Brad.

I agree we’ll be fine, but how one could say that Duke doesn’t have the cache it once did when they have 5 5-star players in both the 2022 and 2023 classes is beyond me. Not saying Brown will go there, but get real. Now they need to keep it up with Coach K gone, but I’d say having 3 of the top 4 recruits in nation in the 2022 class and 5 of top 25 in 2023 class is well beyond a good start.

Their current recruiting class suggests that is not even remotely true. Hopefully Scheyer can go all Matt Doherty, but right now it's still a hot destination.
Hotter than fish grease. Power just committed last week. Seems like they are getting everyone that they set their sights on. I think i remember seeing 5 5 stars committed with Power being the highest 4 star on some lists.

1. Duke hasn't lost its cache. The hope is that Scheyer is going too far into the UK model and won't be successful (time will tell). This photo shows Duke offers are possibly the most valuable commodity in the bball recruiting world.
2. This might be the best recruiting class in rankings history.
3. This board is plenty silly as is, but imagine how silly things would be if this was Illinois' class and not Duke's.

There is a recent article saying kids don't care as much about tournament records these days, which I agree. They care 1A) how much $NIL and 1B) whom did you put in league recently? It seems like we can compete with people on $NIL but Duke/UNC still have the advantages of putting more players in the league. However, it is not hard to know the reason is because lots of those players are highly ranked players in the first place. Therefore, I think it boils down to the minutes they will be getting, player development, and the role they will have.

What’s interesting is that Sept. 23 was originally his official visit date for Memphis and now he doesn’t have one for them

Penny stopped in at IMG but didn't stop by Montverde this week ... Interesting after he told Dravyn that he was the top priority ... Typical Penny

Dravyn likes us a lot ... Gonna come down to scholarships and who stays and who goes ... He wants to start Day 1 ...

Crazy to think that we are now in the position to be passing on top 100 players ... How far we have come ...

Johnson impressed me more than Brown during Peach Jam ... Long-term potential I think Johnson > Brown ... I really really do ...

I'd argue 2022 Duke recruiting class is better.

Smart kid.

Skky's gonna have to go (and Dra's gonna have to be patient). If that happens, I hardly think it's a given that Dra will start (Epps is gonna have a say in that, maybe Rodgers). Odds are against him coming here, but, hot damn, it sure is great to be perceived as a Plan A.

He has the NBA body projection.

I would love to know his wingspan... Long arms, broad shoulders, big hands and the frame to carry more weight if he wants to. Its a great place to start, if the skills come out to match the body...he can be as good as anyone.

Im 40. I remember Brut, Tussy Deodorant, Wrestlemania 1, Rocky 3, Brown skinned Michael Jackson and everything an old 80s playa would indulge in.. lol I wasnt close enough to smell him, but it smells like Brown is a high priority for Duke. James has a visit there next month and we need him to get out of there without a commitment.
Was actually referring to Scheyer...appreciate the info on JB though....
