Where do we stand with JB? Is he looking to play with MJ? Hopefully MJ is recruiting him to come here.
He has 4 or 5 officials set up for this fall. Duke in mid October, Maybe North Carolina. I know that the last official visit for this fall is to Illinois. He mentioned that he will be cutting down his list in mid November. I was hoping he would be committed by then.

Was actually referring to Scheyer...appreciate the info on JB though....
I got you. I know you were referring to the toast of Glenbrook North.. Brown smelled like the rim, he was dunking on it and swatting shots from it the whole open gym period.

1. Duke hasn't lost its cache. The hope is that Scheyer is going too far into the UK model and won't be successful (time will tell). This photo shows Duke offers are possibly the most valuable commodity in the bball recruiting world.
2. This might be the best recruiting class in rankings history.
Contra the notion of Scheyer changing anything about what Duke has been doing in recruiting, that's not even Duke's best class of the last 5 years.

Barrett, Reddish, Zion and Tre Jones were #1, 2, 5 and 15 nationally respectively.

Duke is the aristocracy of the sport, second only to Kentucky in number of players currently in the NBA, and have a brand that connotes a sort of arrogant wealthy villainy that plays to the kids these days.

But the spell will break if they don't keep winning, that's Scheyer's task.

Maybe he cuts his list down to one

I agree we’ll be fine, but how one could say that Duke doesn’t have the cache it once did when they have 5 5-star players in both the 2022 and 2023 classes is beyond me. Not saying Brown will go there, but get real. Now they need to keep it up with Coach K gone, but I’d say having 3 of the top 4 recruits in nation in the 2022 class and 5 of top 25 in 2023 class is well beyond a good start.
Just an absurd amount of talent. How do they ever lose a game? Especially considering that in addition to lopsided talent advantage, they get treated favorably by the refs.

Talent doesn't always win, especially when you have to replace it every year. Sometimes its better to be experienced. (sometimes...)

I won't even get into the inherent variance of a single elimination tournament... We are far too familiar around here.

Follow the visits ... He's basically cut his list down already ... About 7-8 schools are involved but only 4 really are in it ...

Last 10 NCAA champs.

Kansas
Baylor
Virginia
Villanova
UNC
Villanova
Duke
UConn
Louisville
KY

they all recruit well ie. 4 stars but only KY and Duke employ the five 5 stars in freshman class.

The other 8 championships were won mix of 3 star/4 star recruits with 1-2 5 stars.

Johnson impressed me more than Brown during Peach Jam ... Long-term potential I think Johnson > Brown ... I really really do ...
Absolutely. Color me a tad bit underwhelmed by JB. I think he is a bit limited athletically and I don’t really understand the top 30 ranking. We got the better of the two prospects locked up.

That being said, I’d still obviously welcome JB with open arms. He’s still a top 100 prospect in my eyes.

3. This board is plenty silly as is, but imagine how silly things would be if this was Illinois' class and not Duke's.
Hard to imagine the national numbers for this Duke class but for an Illinois class - but add 20 to each and it would be an amazing class

rank 25 - 28 - 33 - 38 - 44

Haven't seen MJ play in person....but I'm thinking that he's got game much like Malcom Hill....only better....???
My perception of him has been much more of an interior player, sort of a Leron Black profile where he's not the biggest but with explosiveness and physicality.

But I'm basing that on a couple of Youtube clips, I defer to those that have seen him play.

I talked to some people with Streets, plan is that Carlos Harris will be joining Morez for an OV on the weekend of Oct. 15th-16th.

JB is scheduled for his OV in November on the 4th-6th, expect Morez to join him for an unofficial on one of those days as well as potentially Carlos & Nojus just depends on schedules and other visits ...

Probably the 50th time I've mentioned this but the kid is literally Feliz 2.0 ... Kid is a winner ... Brad loves him ...
