I don't really know what to think of this kid, end of the bench at Montverde, entourage that is known to be problematic, looks fairly emotional on the court.
That said his stats in Overtime elite through 8 games are: 20.1 ppg, 4.7 rbg, 4.1 apg, 1.3 spg while shooting 60.4% from the field, 41.8% from 3, and 77.8% on FTs.
Looking at those stats you say to yourself, holy crap this kid is an All American. So mixing those 2 thoughts, being on the end of the bench at Montverde is not the worst thing in the world because their roster is ridiculous. I also question the overall talent in OTE because his stats there are a huge jump from the end of the bench. His actually ability is surely somewhere in between.
With DGL I think it will be all about the intangible stuff. Is he going to have the right mindset? Is he going to be mentally tough when an upperclassmen schools him? Is he going to accept being a backup? Is he going to be willing to get punched in the teeth and say, ok how do I make sure that doesn't happen again? And perhaps even more important, will his entourage accept that? He tweets that doubting him just fuels him. OK great, but talk is cheap. Bouncing from school to school doesn't seem to backup the tweets. So is he going to be willing to stick with Underwood and push through struggles to get to where his game can be? The kid clearly has a lot of ability. Guess we shall find out.
