Are we sure that Domask doesn't have the Covid year available too? We may have him for two years...
2019-20 (counts)
2020-21 (only played 10 games, but COVID year, so doesn't count regardless of any medical waiver stuff)
2021-22 (counts)
2022-23 (counts)
2023-24 (COVID year)

He is out of eligibility after 2024. Hopefully Underwood sees something there.. I would have liked a guy that is better than 35.9 % career from three given that he is moving up in competition and likely won't be the same level of volume scorer. I'm glad he had more assists than turnovers.

Kel’el Ware to IU. Sorry if this has been mentioned before.
this kid was dominant at the Under-18s Americas Championship that Ty Rodgers played in with USA. Of course he had a distinct physical advantage over most of his opponents, bit of a rough freshman year but potentially a big get for IU.

TX guard Arterio Morris enters portal.
Can’t find any connection for us, unfortunately. Lived in Memphis until age 13 and was committed there until he decommitted and switched to Texas, so Memphis or Ole Miss to follow Beard would be my best guess.

Tons of potential, there were lots of questions regarding his work ethic however.

Don't you think that could potentially lead to his 3 point percentage increasing if he's getting better looks and not being counted on as the #1 or #2 option?

You hit the nail on the head with your last sentence. If you're making good NIL money, there is no being too old. Look at what second round contracts are going for, compare it to your NIL offer and make a decision. If a guy hates the idea of going to school, there's an overseas option, but again....would you rather be in Turkey making $200K or on college making $500K?
I'll agree with this unless the player is good enough to stick in the NBA. Any NIL money has to exceed what they would get per year after their rookie contract. Two examples of this on opposite ends:

1) The earlier (/s) post suggesting 15M/yr NIL for Wenbanyama, while beating a rookie contract by a mile, would be a bad financial call for him.

2) I thought Kofi would be best off financially if he stuck around as long as possible if the 1M/yr NIL numbers were real.

His sophomore year he injured his foot and only played in a handful of games at the beginning of the season. The thinking is he might get a waiver (medical redshirt) for that year giving him two years at Illinois.
Played 10 games that year. Plus, that was the Covid year. I believe the way the rule works is that 20-21 didn’t count. Didn’t count if you sat out. Didn’t count if you played 32 games (or 10). You get four other seasons besides that year. Which leaves him with one.

DeonThomas

South Carolina
2019-20 (counts-1)
2020-21 (COVID YEAR, does not count. However, he played only 10 games. While doubtful, perhaps it'll be treated as a medical red-shirt and he'll somehow get a bonus year?)
2021-22 (counts-2)
2022-23 (counts-3)
2023-24 (counts-4) as member of ILLINI

He is out of eligibility after 2024. Hopefully Underwood and staff see something there as a potential loophole.

FIFY.

"All student-athletes whose 2020-2021 season was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic will now get 6 years to compete in 4 full seasons of their sport in college."

Obviously there will be additional additions and/or returns to the roster over the next few weeks.

But, suppose our rotation next year consisted of the guys we currently have on the board. Harris, Moretti, DGL, Domask, Rodgers, Goode, Hansberry, Dainja.

Domask would be our leading scorer by a mile and our highest minutes-getter.

So that's what's weird about the conversation about expectations on April 10, 2023. He's being placed into a "role player" role behind entirely hypothetical other pieces.

The conversation would also very obviously be different if he looked like you expect "Marcus Domask" to look, I'm afraid.

[Chump edited my misspelling]
I think we can relax a little bit on that part. Pg is the need - once we get that, other stuff will be fine
