Speaking of names on the backs of jerseys, am I the only one who derived childish pleasure from occasionally seeing Nick Huge sit to Luther Head’s left on the ‘02-03 Illini bench? 🤷‍♂️

Not yet indoctrinated , but has huge potential...........she really really does...........

When I went to HS we had a burger joint called Reabans......10 for $ 1.00...........chopped onions & mustard , oh my..........think of White Castle and there you go , only bigger burger's..........
This is what Julian's in Flora was and still is! I think the owner of Julian's bought the rights to the burger when the franchise folded! Still the same burger, mustard and onion only as it was 50 years ago. In fact I have two double cheese and a order of fries getting ready to head down the pipe now. Best around!!

Insiders, are we leaders right now for Trey McKenney? Feel like he has to be option 1A for 2025.
Not an insider but I do have a solid connection on this one. We are not the leader but definitely in the mix. I’ve heard it will likely come down to scUM, IU, UNC & Illini. Family loves Juwan so if he can right the ship, feels like they’ll be tough to beat. This is going to be a dog fight to the end. His relationship with Ty gives us a shot for sure.

Man, I haven’t thought of Reaban’s in years. Used to eat at both the Salem location and the one in Carlyle. Loves that place.I went with my Dad, mon
We went to the Reaban's in Centralia almost every Sunday evening. in the late 50s early 60's.

He can definitely stroke it, but is he more than a 3 pt specialist at the next level (high major)? Going to the rack in HS doesn't mean much.

Not to be a wet blanket, but a lotta kids struggle to guard at the next level. Not expecting much defensively, but with a year under his belt, Certa should be a lot better defensively (he's gonna have to, assuming he wants to play).

I hope Certa provides staff with some answers.
Based on his tape, gut feel is Cole goes to Iowa or Wisconsin, legally changes his name from Certa to Bohannon, and is good for 20pts against us every time we play.

What? It’s not “another man’s” name. It’s a sports star, a hero, an inspiration, a celebration of that sports star. It’s literally one of the, if not the simplest fan expressions in existence.

Now, putting your own name on a sports jersey, even though you can’t run to the end of your driveway, do more than 3 pushups, or bend over and touch your toes….now that’s something to be confused by.

Similar to the personalized license plate….with the model name of your car on it.

Here’s your sign….

Had one of those in Vandalia right next to the high school 35-40 years ago.
When lunch bell rang in HS , it was a mad dash for those 2 blocks up to the burgers.........sounded like a bunch of elephants , pushing and shoving was necessary if you wanted to eat......................good mem's..................

last word was in the mix but not leaders. Remember he's from Michigan. Michigan State won't be easy to beat. We need to pull another Ty Rodgers.

Who is expected to be our backup point guard or are we also finding one in the portal?
I agree. Even if we get our stud PG (RayJ, Tyger, ??), who subs for him? But, even worse, what about injury? Some will say Harmon, but what I've read was not encouraging about him playing point. I didn't see much in Harris that says PG. Maybe Ty? As a sub, maybe, but I think it would be as bad as last year if our PG was injured with what we have currently on the roster. DGL seems the most obvious, but is he ready? Could he and Moretti handle it in an injury situation?

Last year BU really went after a veteran PG but a high quality guy isn't generally going to want to come for 15 backup minutes. So I think we'll once again going to have problems with depth at PG. In the fall, DGL looked like a solution but the insider murmur suggests that he's not ready.
