Illinois requires 60 hours TO EARN A DEGREE. I'm guessing that TSJ planned to go pro after one year in which case he really didn't need a degree. If he drops out of the draft and returns to school he can likely get his 60 hours and his degree.
If one has 3 years of credits at one school, say Toledo, then picks up a years worth at, say Michigan, wouldn't the logical move be to transfer the Michigan credits back to Toledo and pick up a Toledo degree?

Please stop. We don't need to continue to discuss it. I'd rather talk about the differences between low-fat cottage cheese vs whole milk cottage cheese than listen to idiots continue to look in the past and criticize when we all would have taken Skyy at the time.
The only thing I know about cottage cheese is that BU trading Skyy for Podz was worse than eating the rancid cottage cheese that comes outta a freshmen's mouth as he exits Kam's for the first time.

I can be completely off base but just because i am used to being burned i don’t like it because:
1.) gives another competitor an opportunity to swoop in (I know admissions is an issue but doesn’t change the fact there’s another team calling
2.) now there is another PG avail so maybe coach and team say they can’t put all eggs in one basket and offer Love instead of waiting for RayJ. I would rather RayJ than Love
3.) coach can decide to not go after him since he is expecting RayJ, and then we could end up losing both.

Just my anxious Illini brain speaking. That’s all.

We want absolutely nothing to do with Caleb Love.

A number of schools require your LAST 60 hours to be at the school. You can do the intro courses anywhere. If they are going to accredit you, the advanced classes in your major have to be from them.

Is it just me or is anyone else hoping Dan locks this thread and starts a new one this morning, so that hopefully we can move on from the Podz discussion. All I’ve learned from it is that a lot of posters have 20/20 hindsight vision. At least move that talk to where it belongs — in the former players thread — or start a new thread called I Can See Clearly Now It’s in the Past.

I'm not understanding why people are frustrated by others being concerned with a recruitment of a high level, probably the top prospect on the transfer list.

This is in no way, shape or form on the insiders. They say what they see or hear and that info is great, that said ...we know how recruiting goes. It can change based on literally anything. In the NIL era, double down on that statement.

1)Has he committed yet?
2)Is he still taking visits?
3)Are rosters across the country set?
4)Are other coaches going to be interested?
5)How many weeks, weekends, specific days have we been kicking this can down the road since the 2nd week of April?

I don't see why it's unreasonable to be concerned at this point. Fact is, if we lose this kid and both CoHawk and TSJ(looking less likely)....it's a rebuilding year, which is fine, but I guarantee it's not what anybody wants..... especially with all of the buildup that's gone on for weeks.

There are no guarantees anywhere here and until there are, there's reason to be concerned.
