Agreed and well put. The Insiders on this page are why I joined. But I dont believe them to be infallible. These are barely adults we are talking about.

Also, one other thing, not sure why people call out and attempt to denigrate Piper/Werner and Illininquirer. If you go to their site for inside info to be posted, you are going for the wrong reasons. This was actually pointed out by one of the insiders here recently that just because those guys dont put out “inside info”, it doesnt mean they dont know. They get paid to report and they use sources to do it. If they broke the news, they could lose sources. The insiders here are literally anonymous, they dont have to worry about sources finding out they leaked something and it getting back to the sources like the writers at Illininquirer and then potentially losing that inside source. As pointed out by the insiders here, there is a reason Piper and Werner have in depth pieces ready to go when the news breaks. They wouldnt have it if they didnt know.

So, come here for the insiders to provide hope and go to Illininquirer for the analysis. Thats what I do. And I enjoy the reporting the guys at Illininquirer put together. I think they do a fantastic job.

Why cant that site and this site be different but both be equally great?
In his interview with Jeremy Werner, Loren Tate said Lou Henson would often give him inside information, but require that he “confirm it” with a secondary source before publishing it. I suspect there are similar arrangements among the current staff and segments of the reporting community.

FWLIW, I see very, very little Illininquirer bashing here. And when there is, it usually from the lunatic fringe.

Insiders share what they hear around the program, sometimes from players, players families, or others around the program.

Sometimes, what they hear does not come to fruition for one reason or another.

If you prefer to read only the facts after the outcome has already been attained, stay on the front page of Loyalty. Thats the news part of the site. This is the message board where you’re going to find rumors, gossip, and gifs.

This part of the site is just for fun, don’t take everything you hear here as gospel, and try to enjoy the ride.
Can we get this post pinned to the top of every recruiting thread?

The biggest problem I have with IllinInquirer is with the basic message boards. It seems that most threads devolve into pissing matches between two or three people, often on topics that have veered away from the main thread. It’s why I don’t even bother checking those boards anymore. If I want to hear loudmouth idiots argue about nonsense I don’t care about, I just go into my workplace.

Tyler is far from anonymous

It's a good thing that doesn't happen here.

247 House of Paign is awful. Go post anything and someone will argue. They will argue and never stop. It might go for 30 pages. Boring and dumb.

I think there were a lot of good points made about why this is taking so long.

Committing publicly takes a lot of leverage away from the player.
RayJ wants to get his and make sure he is going into a good situation.
These deals are tricky and decisions should not be made lightly, especially when it comes to the NBA.

What's the point in self imposing a deadline on yourself, when there is already a deadline?
We will know something by next week whether or not TSJ and CH are staying or going to the draft and that's just facts.

I would not be shocked if RayJ waited a little longer to commit either.
Good things come to those who wait.

The insiders have at least given me confidence and got me excited and provided a lot of fun discussion which is what this board is all about! (that and talking about food. Imo's pizza is delicious btw)

The ONLY thing that worries me (and correct me if I'm wrong) is the talk of a backup plan for RayJ (I could have misinterpreted it and the convo might have been about a backup to coleman)
Agreed with the above - insiders have been extremely confident in where he will end up, going so far as saying to not worry about it/stop questioning where he will end up multiple times. I don't care as much about the timeline given their confidence that he will end up here, and that's really all the matters. I could care less about any timing miscues/misunderstandings.

yep. their free boards are painful and largely worthless.

It seriously doesn’t happen here to the level it does there. We venture more into cottage cheese and pizza talk with the occasional incessant Podz debate. Over there, it’s like your basic news rag comments section.

The GIF game here is much more creative, also.

I was there when P-man and that army dude were mods and it was awful........I haven't been to that board for many years now and you nailed it why , with the arguing and non stop bitching and whining..............................

This board has a homey-ness culture and that's why it's the first window I open up every morning..........

And I'm very happy with all the gif's and humor that is being expressed daily......I really really do................

Logging off for a few days. We will have answers on RayJ, Shannon, and Coleman within the next week. See y'all on the other side!

One more thing to note-Don't focus on specific days for some of these things to get announced. People keep offering up different dates/times. It will all come in the next week!
