Reeves met with Calipari a couple days ago. I have to imagine he would have made a decision about leaving or not during that meeting, and if he is leaving then he would have probably announced by now?

I apologize if this has already been discussed. I’ve heard rumblings that Justin Harmon won’t be able to transfer to illinois. Could Lville, Indy and/or Illini0440 confirm or deny this?

So as it currently stands our plan is to start Williams at PG next season. He is not yet cleared for activity so there is somewhat a question as to what he’ll be physically upon his recovery. There is also a question still as to whether he’ll be granted a 2 time waiver transfer and be eligible to play next season. Genuinely curious if people believe there is greater or less than a 50% chance of him being healthy, getting immediate eligibility, and being the PG we need next season to run offense and create spacing on the floor for us

Had not heard this.Does it have anything to do with being juco? Credits to graduate? Not getting Covid year?

If that is a problem and Williams does not get his waiver and/or is not ready to go we don't have anyone on roster right now that
can be the PG.

When is the Covid extra Year of eligibility going to be gone? I'm getting tired of seeing freshmen competing against guys in their 6th year. Also tired of coaches thinking that his players need to be old. It will be better when the max age for everyone will be a year younger than it is now.

Once all the 2020 or older recruits are gone. So you’ve got one more crazy year.

We just have to hope that these are factors that our coaches have considered and that there's a contingency plan moving forward. It's possible that it's been the staff's plan for Williams to sit out a year all along and that they have their eyes on other possible options.

If there's no contingency, then it'd be fair to conclude that we're in for a bumpy ride this coming season.

I wasn't referring to the many considered, thoughtful posts expressing concern about the program's challenges last season and the challenges the staff has had in navigating portal talent. Anyone on here for any amount of time notes that a nontrivial number of posters blow matters well out of proportion on a consistent basis. Some are regulars at the bar. Others flit in and out with an I-told-you-so/The-sky-is-falling predictability that mimics the motions of hummingbirds.

And perhaps I've been looking at a different site these past several years but lots of posters were calling for BU's head consistently in March (not to mention during off-the-hook game threads) in complete disregard for his accomplishments in fairly quickly extinguishing this dumpster fire of a program he inherited from JG and building something impressive. The rabbit hole that Sean Miller-to-Illinois-NOW!!! swiftly became is an example. (Not saying I'm not a fan of Sean Miller.)

Some are prone to catastrophizing: they're the ones to whom I refer. Many, like you and me, aren't. It's not binary. It's a distribution with, IMO, a fat negative tail. Many of us are fans of BU while recognizing his blind spots. Some turn small negative impulses into high-amplitude jeremiads. As is often the case elsewhere (just look around at the culture presently), the loudest and most strident, even if a bats&*t crazy minority, have an outsize negative effect on the vibe here.

Great post.

I have to admit I got a juvenile laugh, thinking about how the text in bold describes both the distribution of Loyalty posts and also some of our backsides.

Have no clue, but it is a reasonable question to be concerned about this and especially if there are are questions about Harmon eligibility.

Are there questions about Harmon’s eligibility? Or is there a post from one person who said someone mentioned to him that Harmon might not be eligible?

The guy above says there are "rumblings".
Dunno WTF that means.
I think the poster might be confused with another Utah Valley transfer being discussed in prior threads, Trey Woodbury. He is most likely out of eligibility due to playing in WAC Tournament after missing entire season 2021-2022 season, thus likely not being able to get medical redshirt status for that year.

That is the only "rumbling" I can think of.

Reeves has meeting with Cal today … Cal getting Joey Hart and Jordan Burks as well … Just needs bodies … Hart can really really shoot … But that’s about it … Burks has NBA measurables …

Top 3 for Johnson as it sits right now … Will be a battle …
Thanks.

Any info about status of Williams (and Harmon) eligibility?
