It’s not moot that you couldn’t understand the article.
Iit actually is because I really don't care. I don't even recall the details. The author believed that AZ coach encouraged the transfer. That was the point the OP made and I agreed. I have no interest in the minutiae of why.

I don't have the interest or inclination to read up on the credentials of said author. According to that article, it was a coach encouraged transfer. I suspect that is likely true. That is my opinion..
And that is Exhibit A as to why clickbait and alternate facts continue to exist.

As they say… it’s easier to con someone than to convince them they’re being conned.

don't understand why so many here are so insistent on 💩💩💩 on any sort of off-season hype.

Yeah I get it, BU and staff messed up on adding a PG. But I for one am intrigued with Ty playing PG and would like to hear about how he's doing on practice. Good or bad, regardless how it will translate into the season.

You have successful seasons by adding talent or you can have successful seasons by some good ole development.

Could be because hype based on practice reports has so infrequently translated to performances during actual games that merit that hype.

Part of the problem if Rodgers can't shoot though is that you can't have both him and Harrison the floor at the same time and honestly probably shouldn't play much next to Dain either
He's always appeared to have great handles and passing, only concern is lack of a shot, but I think his height/athleticism makes up for a lot.

Does Ty Rogers have the tool set to be a player like Penn's States Jalen Picket
Use his physicality to take the ball to the basket, take the short 2 point shot, hit and open man if no shot presents itself, and be in position to rebound ????
Picket used that formula to beat us like drum last season
???????

He also shot 38% from three. Don’t see Ty doing that but he can play bully ball with most guards. Would have to be double teamed and that would open up the outside.

Ty’s gonna be a matchup nightmare for most teams. If you look around the B1G, I can’t imagine Braden Smith Guarding Ty, or Dug McDaniel, Bruce Thornton. Nebraska will play Tominaga a lot of minutes who will be guard? I don’t see alot of minutes for Sincere and DGL unless they surprise our offense and defense would seem to take a massive step back when they’re in. Maybe you play Dain with them to give them easy offense

Interesting that you were calling people out saying they were wrong about it when you don’t care about the minutiae.

Mark Smith wasn't a bum. He was a decent spot up shooter and was a solid player at Mizzou and Kstate but he lacked the athleticism to play defense or create off the dribble.

Which is similar to how Clark looked. He couldn't create anything off the dribble so he was relegated to just being a spot up shooter which he wasn't shooting super well and he was bad defensively.
neither had the dog in him to play that defense. both a little fat and, if you remember, Mark didn't like the treadmill. jids with that body type, need to get lean. Sergio finally did that after his frosh year, he had the dog!

I do t think I’ve seen a single person saying that was the plan all along
Agreed- clearly Brad and staff were trying to add a PG and went all-in in RayJ. Even the insiders critized him for not giving more attention to others in the portal who did want to come here- but these are the tough calls coaches have to make - the staff felt very confident in getting RayJ, he was the best fit, so they passed on others and he just changed his many in the final days, and they were left USCWOAP

It can also be true they like Ty with the ball in his hands an initiating the offense - we know this because they utilized him this way last year after Skyy left and the fact that they turned to him as a true freshman in this capacity is telling

So both can be true- they wanted a true PG veteran transfer but also like what Ty brings to the table initiating the offense
