That looked like a season's worth of highlights in one game.
Lot to like there --really good instincts and effort combined with GREAT footwork. Already has a D1 body. Didn't see much shooting, which makes me wonder what kind of shot he has.
Um. It's worse than that. They also had Melvin Bell who is a top 100 recruit in 25 and was the number 1 ranked recruit in Illinois from that class until he transfer to La Lumiere this summer.
Then Morez, Nojus, and Brown were the top 3 ranked juniors in the state though some places have Koch above Nojus.

Your mention of Perrin makes the rest of your post pretty worthless, but having two second round picks on a team does not mean we should automatically be "contending for titles".
Purdue just won a Big Ten title with a "less than heralded freshman" in Braden Smith, a barely top-200 freshman PG who had offers from Appalachian State, Montana, and Toledo.

Bringing in family is bad for a small private company. When you do it for a public and booster funded organization it's much worse.
I hope you’re right, but with NBA going off of potential I could see him being a one and done if he keeps progressing the way he has been. The kid is hungry, a hard worker, and just gets results.
I’d love two years of him in Champaign but as throngs move along I’m seeing more of one and done situation (which is cool to because how often do we bring in that kind of a player).

But I do seem to recall that Tyler had a friend who had data that convinced Underwood to scrap the crappy defense he brought from the SFA level we had been playing.
It didn't work at OSU and I had college coaches tell me it would not work at this level in BT either.
Maybe should have hired Tyler's buddy.

Maybe it'll be nice to have a PG that lasts more than a year, recruiting a Krisa or Mulcahy benefits us this upcoming season, but sticking with DGL and Ty will benefit us greater in 2 years with needed consistency for a change. DGL and Ty will be gone anyway after this season because why not and mulcahy would have won us a ship this season, and Brad will get fired long before he has a chance to coach that second season. Get it together Brad!
Honestly, I liked the heavy perimeter pressure d he played at SFA. The issue with it at Illinois was that he really didn't have good enough athletes to play like that until this past year.All valid observations.

I've always enjoyed watching the extremely pressure heavy teams like the 40 minutes of hell Arkansas teams, Pitino's Louisville teams, Shaka Smarts Havoc, press Virginia, these last few years of Tenn teams, etc.
You really have to have the right players to run that type of defense though. Honestly, this year's team is actually fairly well equipped to run a defense like that with a ton of length and athleticism. Harmon, Shannon, Domask, Rodgers, Hawkins, Harris, Goode, Guerrier, DGL, and Hansberry might be enough depth to do it(Dain isn't athletic enough to play like that). Though realistically I don't think either Shannon or Coleman have enough dawg in them to play that style.

Sencire, Ty, Goode, TSJ and CoHawk. I'm looking forward to seeing that defensive lineup on the floor. I would guess they could give nightmares to any team in the country.
JMO but I wouldn’t be a fan of bringing in a coach with past recruiting violations from an FBI sting operation or an AAU director to get maybe a season of leverage with recruiting. Besides point guard, recruiting has been a strength. I get trying to recruit a better x & o’s guy but first you’d have to acknowledge that you have a weakness there. I could see Underwood not admitting that but that’s where Whitman needs to step in and be more assertive about changes that need to be made if he felt that it was necessary with these two positions.
If there is legitimate disgruntlement between boosters, Underwood, and Whitman, then some of this heat needs to be directed at Whitman as well.
I don't think BU would have put a similar caliber person there if his name wasn't Underwood. And if he did there would be an issue with it. There are clear issues with staff.
