Still want to hear the specifics of what Moretti is missing (having never seen him play). Is it mainly a size and defense issue? Something glaring missing on offense too?
The scrimmage video agreed. It also showed Harmon playing a very polite defense. Don't intrude on people. Be near them at most 50% the time. Talk to others 25% of the time, and just wander the rest. When near a person, be sure not to get in their way. Be polite and wave at people going by. Screens offer great shade and you should slowly stroll under them. Avoid all contact. It is just rude.
The worst part in my book is they did not appear to try.
Physical size … Defensively he’s a liability at this point …
Offensively he can pass … But finishing around the rim and shooting wise … Room for growth …
Moretti is probably not going to get taller but he can get stronger and quicker.
we had bigger guards last season were routinely smoked for season highs by Iowa, PSU, NW etc.
Defense scheme was poor. You can hide or give help to 1 weak defender. You can also play zone. That was on Brad.
If team is not winning with Ty or DGL at point I would give Moretti and Harmon a try. Otherwise they are wasted scholarships.

Highly skilled ball handler and passer. Excellent court vision. Deadly three point and free throw shooter. Can drive and kick, might have trouble finishing at the rim against B1G competition. Can't defend Podz's shadow.
From what I’m reading, Ty might be a little behind what we hoped we’d get from him this season.. Domask and DGL look better than expectation, and the rest are right around what we expected?
Don’t believe he’s ever in his career shot anywhere near levels to be considered a “deadly” 3PT shooter. “Slightly below average” is as generous as I’d be willing to go
I guess this just goes to show you can read just about anything on the internet.
How could you possibly know he's a "deadly 3pt shooter" he's never attempted in a real game
I'd assume there are probable some practice reports.
His older brother, Davide, was absolutely a deadly 3 pt shooter though so if he's anything like him he will be able to shoot.
I think the Podz insertion is a dead giveaway for snark.

Something I wanted to just point out that was by far the most encouraging thing from watching the scrimmage yesterday.. garbage team or not..
I don’t think we played one possession of hero ball like we did last year. No dribble dribble dribble step-back-three.. multiple steals with multiple passes on the break… we got the rim at will, we swung the ball 3 or more times on most half court possessions.. I did not see any selfish basketball being played IMO.
Now, things will definitely change once we see the FAU’s & Marquettes of the world.. but for the first time in a year I watched 40 minutes of team basketball. Which is refreshing.
I think these guys are fully aware that they have limitations.. but some things they definitely are..a bunch of athletes. They know physically they can hang with literally any team. And I’ll ride with that, shooting & half court woes and all.. at least they’re entertaining.
