Appreciate insiders giving us the info you have so this is no shot at you guys at all. But if Hill and Maddox are two of the biggest targets, Iā€™m super underwhelmed. Live in Toledo so Iā€™m familiar with both. Either might be decent complimentary pieces (6th man type guys) but not guys to fill the holes we have. And I just canā€™t imagine taking bothā€¦makes no sense to me. Based on earlier comments about getting some crazy talent I was hoping weā€™d hear names of much better players.
Marcus Domask was the 82nd ranked player available in the portal last offseason.

Out of those three, Domask is the only one who outperformed expectations. Harmon had a nice stretch in the early/mid season, but ended up being pretty much what we expected, if not worse. Guerrier was a bit of a disappointment overall. Domask, obviously, was outstanding but other than that I don't think we had some super incredible year in the portal.
Domask alone makes this yearā€™s transfer group ā€œsuper incredibleā€. There are only five spots for all big ten first teamā€¦ to get one with a low-NIL transfer is insane. With TSJ and Hawkins returning, itā€™s not like we were offering ā€œalphaā€ spots.

I am curious to see how the conference recruits the transfer portal going in alphabet order

Indiana have a good high school recruiting class coming in but probably loses their bigs to the draft

Iowa Perkins leaving has to hurt. Freeman and Sandfort are a good base. Not a great recruiting class

Maryland Losing Scott and Young will be hard to replace. Already got 2 transfers and have a 5 star big

MSU loses a lot will watch the portal

SCUM who knows yet

Minnesota could return their team and be solid donā€™t have much of a class

Nebraska return Mast but loses a lot

Northwestern lose Boo and Berry. Not much of a recruiting class

O$U lose Battle and Key. Will be Thornton team

PSU have a lot of seniors not sure if any have eligibility. Decent incoming class

PU Edey, Gillis and Jones. Will still have good guard. Have decent recruiting class 6 players probably wonā€™t gain to many transfers

RU lots of players saying they are leaving but loaded recruiting class

Wisky loses Storr and Wahl

For the new teams Oregon was the best of the four but had a lot of seniors

Sorry for the long post but if BU finds a couple good transfers like MD we should be competing for another conference championship. I donā€™t think there is a clear favorite like PU was this year

He certainly outperformed expectations. But he also had size and strength that translated to the B1G. I just donā€™t see it with Hill. Maddox would be a stud off the bench in my opinion. But weā€™ve got a lot of holes to fill.

Biggest thing is tightening up his handles and getting stronger. Enter in Fletch...
And bring consistency in scoring. He can't disappear for games. A ton of this is in who we bring in so he can play at the 4 and not at the 5. A larger question is, do we have the NIL to bring back CH and bring in the other we want?

We're going to be at or close to the top of the conference for a while.

Thatā€™s why you go after Storr and Boswell. Both have size and can thrive under BUā€™s system. Then you find a stud big man next. Maddox is a 6th man and thatā€™s it. Hill is a role player but you also need depth on the bench and both Maddox and Hill would be good in that role.

Does this loss kill recruiting momentum? Got embarrassed on the national stage.
By a team some say could beat one of the worst NBA teams on a good night? and about the same as they've been beating teams all tourney and the last one? No, it just shows the next level that Brad will be trying to reach next year and beyond

Even if his draft status isn't what he'd like it to be, why would coming back even be a thought? Not sure of his NIL situation, but he can open a pretty big bank account overseas, right?
Another good thing for recruiting.

A year ago, Brad was the frustrated coach screamed on the bench, lost in the first round. was basically questioned by a player publicly, and had IMO at least one embarrassing press conference (his response when asked about TSJs leadership) Oh and there was the rumor that he was trying to get the Texas job.

I am extremely impressed with the changes he made this year. I canā€™t recall one time all year I thought he looked out of control on the court. He was all class in his communications win or lose, and now his players are talking positively about the culture and his leadership. And the rumors this year are that heā€™s here for good. Oh and we won the B1G tourney and went to the Elite 8.

I know we have more NIL than most, but we arenā€™t the only ones with NIL resources. So regardless of the NIL, I think we will be much more attractive to recruits than we were a year ago.

I feel like the only way he would come back would be an unfinished business situation.

Like Domask gets a waiver(insiders basically saying that it's not happening), get Storr and Kalkbrenner in the portal plus a guard

Would be looking at a lineup of Domask, Storr, Ty, Coleman, and Kalkbrenner with a bench mob of transfer guard, DGL, Goode, Hansberry, and Morez.

Seems like a pipedream but feel like that's the type of championship or bust situation for Coleman to return. Honestly don't even know if our nil could support that.

They couldn't. Some of those people need to stop saying this.
Lol the worst NBA team is full of 15 guys that were not just the best players on their college team but just the best players in their conference and are now better, older, and stronger.

They would absolutely beat UCONN by 100 pts if they were going full intensity and would have multiple bigs better or just as good as Clingan.

Our top target right now would be a guaranteed top 5 player in the conference next year
