Has to be! How does he keep those NL’s happy, besides the obvious?I wonder if Pruman is independently wealthy?
I’d like to see someone put together some smart-stats on the churn/turnover rates all over college basketball…We'll see if money really is the one and only factor soon.
Purdue is never listed as a top 25 NIL school so there's almost no way they can hang on to their big 3 if nothing matters but money.
Sure, but that's a completely different situation than someone leaving on their own.bingo.................i had to them when i fired someone and it was a waste of time and never had any value in my opinion.....usually got a little testy too.............
Best I can do is Pryce Sandfort. It is very apparent watching these Tournament games that we need a significant upgrade in athleticism and physicality.
What you're saying is that the recruit/transfer needs to be self aware of their own limitations and expectations and the staff needs to be clear on what those expectations are.I agree with you Rockford, but I think that this is something that we need to take into account when we are recruiting. (The rest of this not directed at you Rockford, just using your line as a jumping off point.)
If we are recruiting a big who we want to retain, maybe it matters if he wants to shoot a lot of 3's. If we are recruiting a junior we want to retain, maybe it matters that he wants to be a star his senior year.
If we recruit players who are not realistic about their skill sets, whose fault is it when they leave? I do not think it is just theirs. If we have to lie to get them to stay, I agree we should let them go. But how did we end up with the bad match in the first place?
The quote I heard going around re: Morez and his dad was "my son doesn't come off the bench". So that does indeed sound like starting HumBrickHouse over him was an issue from the jump. What you're saying is that the recruit/transfer needs to be self aware of their own limitations and expectations and the staff needs to be clear on what those expectations are.
Seems like the players expectations and the coaches expectations aren't always lining up.
This shouldn't have been news to Brad that Morez wanted to extend his game and it shouldn't have been news to Morez that, for his freshman year, he had a role to play.
Honestly, the only guy who really embraces the role that he probably didn't want(at first) was Will. He followed Brad's plan, he eased himself in and low and behold.....he developed after putting the time in and he ended up being the go-to guy.
I think that Morez(or his parents) wanted more of an immediate gratification.
I think that going forward, the staff needs to look FAR MORE into how a player fits and have that very open dialogue. If Sarr wants 20 shots a game, Brad needs to manage that with the rest of his roster. You can't recruit 5 guys who all want to get 20 shots and average 20 PPG.
The parents need to be part of these conversations as well. KJ, Will, TI, MJ and TW...... individually are great players. There just wasn't enough ball to go around and that's not even taking the rest of the roster into consideration.
The team was a bit selfish and we're seeing that unfold this off-season.
Closer to zero likelihood for year 2. Did you just get here?2 years of eligibility left for Dix. so something to perhaps build on multi-year (yes, i know its portal era, but if things go well there's always a good likelihood for year two)
None of whom have experience in our system or with other players on our team, meaning we have to start building an actual team from scratch. While I certainly understand that college basketball is less enjoyable with players leaving like this regularly, I really don't understand why everyone is so upset from a basketball perspective as to what has transpired so far. There are dozens of players that are going to be in the portal that are significantly better and better fits for this offensive system than Morez or White.
Correct. You cannot sustain a positive culture in the long run this way.None of whom have experience in our system or with other players on our team, meaning we have to start building an actual team from scratch.
What do you mean? Anyone who has played pickup basketball has tons of experience in our system.None of whom have experience in our system or with other players on our team, meaning we have to start building an actual team from scratch.
Shoot your shot, I guess.Dix's agent still looking for a school that will actually offer him $2m. LOL.
Slightly different caliber of player than those we keep losing.
1) C'mon, no need to keep beating the kid up. The kid was WAY out of position and it looked like it. We all get it. He still lut the time in, he still busted his butt and he's still one of "us". He wants to win as much as anyone. No need to continue to throw one of our own under the bus..The quote I heard going around re: Morez and his dad was "my son doesn't come off the bench". What do you mean? Anyone who has played pickup basketball has tons of experience in our system.
It's designed around standing on the perimeter and chucking up 3s or going 1 on 1. Then defense is optional.
That describes the entire rosterSays one guys who played for three different teams in 4 years and another guys who’s about to be on his third team in three years? Yeah- thank you for the wisdom you two
I think our athleticism is fine. I think our physicality, effort, and focus are lacking. It is very apparent watching these Tournament games that we need a significant upgrade in athleticism and physicality.
So a pickup allotment of hoopsters chosen in a few weeks on the fly is preferable to having a modicum of continuity? You’re just gonna hope for chemistry as you go?What do you mean? Anyone who has played pickup basketball has tons of experience in our system.

Stop. That's simply not true. When we ran the offense, we ran it well. We cut well, the ball was shared and we got a lot of layups and open looks. We had plenty of games where we shot 50%+ on 2 point FG attempts. What do you mean? Anyone who has played pickup basketball has tons of experience in our system.

Amen.It is very apparent watching these Tournament games that we need a significant upgrade in athleticism and physicality.
Hm. Are you sure? I was thinking you'd say "an athleticism upgrade is needed."I think our athleticism is fine. I think our physicality is lacking.
