It's a money thing - Will returning means mid 2 mil hit to our line. Sarr is high 1s, borderline 2 with Duke pushing for him. Tomi & Kylan will command 7 figures as well. Just not enough to fill out a roster unfortunately.

We are deep but not Arkansas, IU, Kansas deep.
If Wil is at all possible you make it happen. Kid can be a player of the year candidate.

So many are so sure that Morez will never be a shooter, but his senior year he made 17 of 50 3 point shots in 34 games. It's not quite the stretch to see more to his game than just a rebounder and garbage guy. But, trashing anyone that leaves seems to be the standard.
Not really. Generally, our fan base wishes them well. The exception is when they or their handlers / family feel a need to trash the program on the way out.

you don't need both Sarr and Will. One will do but Will's option one A. Will be your best player, possibly All Big 10.

Piper & Wagner both said if the number is right they would too. They felt our offensive scheme fit Storrs game better than KUs. I mean I would be fine with rolling the dice for the right number. I'd bet Storr could still be good in the right situation.

He’s paid too much to be checked out. It’s literally his job to adjust and move forward effectively. If he can’t do the job and get results (or retain top players year after year), change is in order.

If you give Storr the TSJ playbook, and ask, just how bad do you want this?
Yeah it’s interesting, especially if we get Will back. Will could be our Marcus in the half court. Not necessarily booty ball but play making and shot creating. And Storr we don’t really run anything for we just outlet rebounds to him and let him go.

That said, I expect Will to go and if your ego is too big for Bill Self, not sure I want you around my program.

Maybe we shouldn't spend time using stupid nicknames for people who have done nothing but work hard for our program? Ben didn't decide his minutes. Ben took the shots he was supposed to take. They didn't fall as much as anyone wanted(definitely including him). But guess what? He's still here as of today. White and Johnson are gone. They had no loyalty to the program.. If you want to criticize them ok. If you want to be mad that Underwood played the guy too much that makes sense. But to take jabs at a guy who will hopefully return to give us some continuity next year shows what type of fanbase we have become. Its embarrassing.
Not only that, but calling a kid who:

shoots above D1 avg
Made more 3s in a season in the Underwood era than all but TSJ, Trent (bested this season 2/5 times), Plummer, Matt mayer
Was 15th in an 18 team conference in 3s made

a derogatory name about shooting is asinine. Was he below what we thought by a few % yes (i was expecting 37-38% as i just dont see maintaining 40% moving from evansville to b10).....but objectively the kid isnt really a bricklayer. Like come on yall.

Come to illinois and hit 63 threes and some dudes who would have be wheezing after 2 mins of a YMCA pickup game will make fun of your name. LOL

Could we swing Kylan/Tomi/Storr/ Riley or Sarr/ Transfer 4

What's the number for AJ Storr who was extremely dominant in B10 tourney just a few years ago? If KU scheme was the issue then what's the number?

So apparently Dix doesn't necessarily have an issue with Owen Freeman (or he's simply using Creighton as leverage in his NIL negotiations).

Don't you know...we can't ever say actual numbers out loud. It's all a big secret that everyone hides. That's how you know the system is working.

I would disagree that retaining 2 players on a team graduating 0 meaningful contributors is a good start.

Returning 0-1 players is not some benchmark, where returning 2 makes for a good start. Only retaining 2 of potentially 6-8 guys is a very bad start to an off-season. Retaining less than 20% of your roster in consecutive years with no changes at the top, is a degree of turnover not standard in any era of basketball, including this one.
I mean, it's light-years better than last season! I'd obviously rather have more, but two for-sure starters than can impact a game is a good start in the Brad Underwood portal era. Maybe I should have qualified my statement a little more.

Losing Morez and Tre sucks, you can't spin that any other way. I was hoping for some continuity, as I'm sure Brad was too.

At that percentage, he could shoot 15 a game for all I care!

If Ben is returning he needs to get stronger. At his size we should be able to find some mismatches and do a little bit of what Marcus did.

To be clear, I am not comparing Ben to Domask, but if I were the staff I’d want to explore “booty ball’ as an option for Humrichous.

However, for that to be explored he needs to get stronger. He tried it occasionally last year and he couldn’t move his man at all.
