I know the insiders say we've got some players coming, and I know you bet on the field in recruiting, but watching the complete lack of movement on incoming players and coaches, while others load up, I have this feeling like I'm watching a disaster taking place in slow motion and there's nothing I can do...
Is this the beginning of the end? This process eerily reminds me of Weber's end. I hope One wrong.

I'm not sure that's the message you want to send. Coach guys up to the NBA, yes, but coach guys up to leaving for another school?

Yup as I said I'm not sold on him as an instant impact guy either

I'm not sure what the difference is between the two leagues he played in, but it was with the same team so I'd venture to guess these leagues are similar as most of his stats were roughly equal aside from the 3pt shooting

He shot 27.3% on 88 attempts in one leage and shot 43% on 90 attempts in the other league (both leagues are 24-25 season). Neither are huge sample sizes but I'd guess his true shooting ability is somewhere between those two numbers.
FWIW the other league where he shot better is a much much lower level of basketball. Teams that play in the ABA and Montenegrin-Erste league basically tend to play their backups in the latter. Kind of like a Varsity/JV set up.

The goal should be final four and winning championships & the current build doesn’t seem ti be trending that way…

There are a couple of reasons why Illinois is recruiting so hard in Europe.

One of the reasons is good, and the other one isn’t.
Is it possibly something like - good because there are good players that seem to like Illinois that we can actually sign. Bad because that's our best option to get good players because Americans aren't picking Illinois???

That's weird, what I read suggested the opposite (Edit: just looked this up again and can't find what I was reading earlier)

ABA league co-exists alongside other scaled down leagues in Bosnia & Herzogovina

He played 25 minutes per game in both leagues so its not like he rode the pine in ABA and then was sent to this other league and played more

He played like 3 games in an U19 league, maybe that's what you're thinking of?

Anyway shooting percentages are volatile and the rest of his stats were similar otherwise, not sure we can glean much from it anyway

people here bend over backwards to protect this underachieving head coach and his staff, but then badmouth the players who played their hearts out here

It seems obvious that more often than not players improve their career trajectory after spending time at Illinois with Underwood. It doesn't seem like that is fully appreciated or understood by players though, so it seems to only serve to hurt us in trying to keep players and doesn't do much pull in terms of reloading. Maybe that's just my take on it though.

I've read that Kentucky has been projected to land 6'9" 215-pound Sophomore Forward Alvaro Folgueiras (Robert Morris) from the transfer portal. Alvaro averaged 14.1/9.1/3.2 last season for Robert Morris, and he shot 41% on 3-pointers. I mentioned him yesterday as a potential transfer target for Illinois. Does anyone know if Illinois even contacted Alvaro? He's a Spaniard, but I don't know if any of our European targets would put up those type of (Sophomore!) numbers at Illinois.

Good European option, but maybe we lose Sarr? Hopefully it’s not players not wanting to pick UI for coaching reasons.

But what is the issue with these other team getting players that we aren’t? I assume it’s about $$$$ in most cases. So are we offering less?

We can't compete for players that people know of so we have to find unknowns in Europe, which we're good at. There, that's it, no need to be cryptic.

This is a perfect example of the development program BU is running. He developed Tre all the way up to the blue-blood sphere.
Show this to recruits.
His career avg for points is 10.5 ppg and rebounds 5.4 rpg. At Illinois he averaged 10.5 and 5.5. Yes, his shooting and his per minute numbers improved, but not sure this is exhibit A for Illinois being a developmental program.

So would it be fair to say number one Michigan has the best NIL in the Big Ten and number two we don’t have as good of NIL resources as we once thought? Have some people backed out?

Also what happen to Michigan Admissions being tough. I bet Juwan has to be sick right now.

Auburn leading for Flory Bidunga (Kansas) transfer? That would be exactly the type of player/athlete that Pearl is recruiting to Auburn.
