Good European option, but maybe we lose Sarr? Hopefully it’s not players not wanting to pick UI for coaching reasons.
I don’t think it is not wanting to come here. There are options and a hell of a lot of competition. We are most likely putting two young players in the NBA 1st round and perhaps a third. That is attractive!
The whole process today is radioactive!

His career avg for points is 10.5 ppg and rebounds 5.4 rpg. At Illinois he averaged 10.5 and 5.5. Yes, his shooting and his per minute numbers improved, but not sure this is exhibit A for Illinois being a developmental program.
Efficiency numbers are much more what teams look at these days rather than counting stats- would Kansas have wanted him last offseason? Clearly not, this offseason they prefer him over Storr- he clearly raised his profile

I know that. But the original poster wrote “developed Tre all the way up to the blue-blood sphere. Show that to recruits.” Last year Kansas took transfers from South Dakota St and Northern Illinois. So Illinois is on par with those two programs as far as being development schools? Like I said. Not exhibit A.

There are a couple of reasons why Illinois is recruiting so hard in Europe.

One of the reasons is good, and the other one isn’t.
I am taking this as the good reason is that there is a lot of talented players over there in a very much untapped market. The bad reason is because all the good players state side don’t want to come to Champaign/we aren’t a blue blood so never a first option for top talent.

EDIT: Troop44 beat me to it!

Hmmm…that sounds ominous and makes my head spin.
Good:
Fundamentally sound players available that aren’t awestruck by Blue Blood schools?

Bad:
A.) Brad and staff losing credibility on being able to coach effectively?
B.) Brad gaining a reputation for being inflexible and petty with those who speak out against Tyler and Hamer’s strategy and tactics?
C.) We actually don’t have very much money for NIL relative to our peers this year and foreign players are more economical?
D.) Foreign players don’t have the same visceral disgust reflex when seeing their coaches wear leggings?
