lol..........Gotta scratch that 'ic.
Our best season ever was when we started two pg’s so not necessarily a bad thingBoswell played SG out of necessity, and actually was our primary PG toward the end of last season after they moved KJ off the ball

Depends how good they are. Baylor won the Championship in 21 with ease(nobody within 11 pts in the tourney) and they played 4 guards listed at 6'4 or under and I think those listed heights were generous.Regardless of anyone's opinion of whether Boswell is a PG or not, we are not going to play 3 guards under 6-2

6'2 Davion Mitchell, 6'3 Jared Butler, 6'3 Adam Flagler, and 6'4 Macio Teague. I believe Mitchell measured in at barely 6 ft at the combine, Flagler and Teague measured in around 6'1 and Butler at 6'2.
Then if you want to go further back the trip of Dee, Deron, and Luther certainly didn't have no head toppers. Really were a bunch of mites that chucked it from the cheap seats.
I don't see Teague on the combine set but Butler measured in at 6'2.25 barefoot. Teague looked smaller than Butler imo if not the same height when they played. Can't edit my previous post now but Teague was measured at 6-3.5 and Butler was measured at 6-3.75
Teague 6'3.5"
Butler 6'3.75"

Is this good (Last visit) or bad (won't make it to our visit) ?

A lot of the listed heights in basketball are heavily exaggerated.
I haven't seen any explanation on it.Is this good (Last visit) or bad (won't make it to our visit) ?
I included the barefoot measurements because college height listings tend to be inflated and how much they are inflated varies wildly from team to team. They don’t play barefoot and listed sizes are always with shoes on
You went and included all of their barefoot measurements which was a little disingenuous, only one of them was “small” for a guard
Anyway the whole point was that a bunch of tiny guards doesn’t tend to be what you want when filling out a roster (so even if we use your barefoot measurements, it still worked for basically one team ever in the modern era- not something to strive after imo)

I agree that positional size can definitely help on both ends and covers up a lot of flaws as we saw with the elite 8 team 2 years ago that had a ton of size on the perimeter.
However last years team also had a ton of height and it didn't really help a ton. Look at recent Houston teams that don't play a guy over 6'7/6'8 and usually play 3 small guards together. They should have won the title this year and did beat a very big Duke team because Samson has constantly recruited dogs that are tough and physical on both ends. Florida also played a 3 guard lineup though Richard was listed at 6'5(measured 6'3.25)
Yeah but you're using barefoot heights for the Illini guys.Sure- if you think Baylor is the only team ever to list non-barefoot heights then we can’t really have a serious convo about this (no team ever, that I know of, lists barefoot heights)
3 guards is great, they just can’t all be 6-1
Tennessee staff feels really good about Christian Collins.I’ve heard it’s likely coming down to NC State, MSU and Illinois for Jervis …
Florida and Tennessee also involved but have ground to make up …

Petrovic is listed at 6'3 and Boswell is listed at 6'2. If we could get Pettiford who is listed at 6'1 I would absolutely take him and he would be the only guard listed at 6'1. That's wouldn't be too different than the listed sizes for 3 guard lineups Houston has been running out for years under Sampson.
Personally, Keyshawn Hall or Elijah Freeman would be the better fit if you were going to steal someone from the son of Satan. Imo, Hall would make Illinois a instant top 2-3 team in the country and a legitimate national title contender since he could play the 3 for bigger lineups and slide to the 4 for an insanely talented lineup with Petrovic, Boswell, Stojakovic, Hall, and Tomi.
I am not a fan of Tipton Edits, but this may be one of the ugliest graphics of all time. I get the impression that the final five teams were chosen just because their colors come so close to making up a Pride flag.
Yes.Is this good (Last visit) or bad (won't make it to our visit) ?
