Plus, with each proceeding year, you increase age, injury risk, and delay that second contract. All those factors will hurt him in the long run.

So, in what world does it logically make sense for him to come back?

Not to mention it would mean he would have to play another year in the nba to get his second contract. We would have to offer something insane to make Wagler even think about it. It’s good for the program to have a one and done lottery pick.

I’d chip in 1 grand. Just need 5000 more Illini faithful to do the same

This may be he beginning of an awakening that we thought would happen in 2005. The difference is we have the right people leading us…JW & BU. I think we will be better next year and top 3 preseason. This is the start…

Plus the ability to pay for players. Weber was a good coach hampered by recruiting. BU is a great eye for talent and a great coach

It was a massive reason he’s tenure was a failure after 06. He just couldn’t get top end talent.

Conversely, Underwood has consistently gotten talent to come here.

I will die on the Weber was a good coach hill. But that only gets you so far.

If only the lower tier teams' studs could have left and we could have paid them to play for us like Underwood can.

Please quit comparing any previous coach to Brad unless you only want to compare X&Os

Maybe one more developmental/bench add. A lot to play out, but should be an awesome roster again next year.

If this happens, I feel like this is a pre-season Top 5-10 Team, a favorite for the Big Ten, and another DEEP tourney run team.

Season is done. Time to look forward.

Bring back the twins along with Mirk and Andrej. And Jake as culture/glue guy. Add Q. Get a couple big time portal guys and let’s freakin’ go.
