Good, yes. Very good, I don't think so.

Replacing Dent and Bilodeau will be tough. At most 7-10 seed -- IMO.

Good vs very good is splitting a hair a bit, but they have probably the 3rd best roster in the B1G right now

They return more minutes than anyone sans Illinois & Michigan State

6 top 100 players, same number as Michigan has (just for example)

When Jake starts, the opposing D will spread out, and will begin to tire a bit.
Insert a fresh Drej and maybe he gets the lane a bit more open, and gets a half step advantage.
If so, from a team standpoint, this might be the better approach than Drej starting.
He is our Manu Ginobili. Manu is a HOF as a 6th man and a big part of the reason the spurs were so good.

Boozer already announced his return. Foster will likely be coming off the bench.

Does he actually have eligibility? Usually these tweets say something like “needs a waiver” or “applying for waiver.”

Who do you think gets drafted higher one day or even next year Blackwell, Vaaks or Coleman? I question if any do next yr but my money is on our guys. Blackwell is an amazing college player but someone created space for him. He is an amazing colliegate player. If he was elite pro prospect he would be gone. We need a 4/5 at can shoot n defend case mirk z or tomi go down. This Moriilo can guard n play that role if needed is dumb. Throw him n the 4 n he is gone next year unless he grows 4 inches.

There's no way that's 3rd best.

Illinois / Michigan / MSU / USC all above them (at the very least).

Here's a guy we were heavily in on that's in the portal. Yes, couldn't get on the court at all, but might be able to develop him into a quality 9th man (alongside Ethan Brown).

Purely asking out of curiosity for those of you who know far more than me:

Is the appeal for Blackwell and the other many “mouths to feed” to stay just because it’s a Duke Brand that you’re sticking it out for? I understand guys like Lee who intends to transfer out because he’ll be competing for minutes at this level, but will be a high contributor at a Mid or Lower major at a minimum. But some of Dukes bench look like they’d be starters at a power conference, and even a higher tier power conference team at that. The question here for days has been Blackwell, Andrej, Coleman not wanting to share, but looks like Blackwell is going to Duke to share still?

Is the Duke branding that high? Sort of like 5-star freshman QBs heading to Alabama only to be the 3rd string a decade ago?

Couldn’t be more thankful we went with Andrej + Coleman over Blackwell. The chemistry of this team will be unmatched, and it can’t be understated.

Clarification on Lee: I think he’d be a strong rotational piece for a high major power conference team as well. I merely meant at the very least he’d be a baller if he went down to a mid-major so that he gets more opportunities.

My guess at the top 5 -- as of right now -- would be some combination of: Illinois / Duke / Michigan / Florida / UCONN.

I'd probably have Illinois #4.
Maybe fourth in the big ten… Illinois is going to struggle to guard athletic, physical PG/SGs man…

isn't Isiah Evans staying in the draft. with Blackwell, won't foster leave? I guess it depends if Cam Williams is a stud like boozer (all timer) or just a regular stud to me if they are as good as last year. rippey as well could be awesome.

if they start dame sarr and pat again they better have a way to score really well. their defense will be really good. Cam boozer did a ton last year.

I think they will take a step back from last year but still be very good

Yes I’m curious how they will do. Scheyer has been merely okay when he hasn’t had a transcendent NPOY type frosh. I think it speaks volumes on what they think of their incoming frosh that they would go out and get a guy like Blackwell. I don’t believe they’ve gone the retention + star transfer route. Will see how they do. Helps that they play in the ACC.
