Simple solution: buy row 5 at the 20 and sit in row 12 at the 50 (or closest available).
that works only if there is no rush on tix the last 4 days and they sell all those seats fronm the 35 to 35, rows 10-20 , to someone else before game

Yeah, that used to happen in the 80s. Not so much lately. We typically have around 15,000 sold seats that sit empty for most games.

Yeah for sure. I sat in my season tickets I held for 10 years on Saturday. Haven’t sat there in 5 years. They were as empty as the last year I paid for them!

We are somehow good enough to be top 25 but bad enough that all the experts I've seen have picked Minnesota...

MINNEAPOLIS — Illinois athletics director Josh Whitman stood at center court at the Target Center to field questions at Big Ten basketball media days, but with recent success, football is what took center stage.
Whitman, a tight end for the Illini from 1997-2000, hired Bret Bielema and the Illini’s coaching staff after the 2020 season, and now, Illinois is 5-1 and ranked for the first time in 11 years.

He saw a program that was in search of a new coach when he was hired and won a combined five games in the first two seasons with his first hire, Lovie Smith. Whitman pivoted to Bielema, and the rebuild took off.
“I’ve said that however many times in the years leading up to this that when we started to achieve at the level that we expected that it would be that much sweeter knowing where we started,” Whitman said. “I hope our fans feel that way. I know I feel that way. I know people inside the program have felt that way. We just have to just every once in a while take a moment to appreciate where we are and what we’re doing.”
Illinois is off to its best start since 2011, and now, Whitman has seen hires for both men’s basketball with Brad Underwood and football with Bielema rise from the bottom of the Big Ten to become competitive.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — The status of Illinois’ starting quarterback is still up in the air. Or at least will remain behind closed doors.
Coach Bret Bielema gave updates on quarterback Tommy DeVito, starting wide receiver Isaiah Williams and cornerback Taz Nicholson among players who were hurt last weekend against Iowa, and the news didn’t sound great.

“All the guys who are injured, I don’t think any of them will be season-ending or anything along that line,” Bielema said. “I think we are fortunate this week with Minnesota to have the bye week coming out of it. The majority of those guys should all be back in time for our return after the bye week. I don’t know how realistic it is for any of those four or five guys to project into being in this week’s plan.”
Does that mean DeVito is out? Not necessarily. Bielema didn’t answer when asked to clarify if DeVito would not be available.
DeVito started all six games this season before leaving on the team’s second drive after reaggravating an ankle injury. Backup Art Sitkowski finished the game.
Illinois had a field goal on its opening drive and then had two field goal drives the rest of the evening with Sitkowski.

Im thinking if Art cant be minimally successful passing, then we may have to go barge to wear down their defense a bit. I think a whole week with the ones on offense will calm Art down. I for one am still optimistic of success. Go ahead Art, make my day !
I think Art can be successful if he doesn't turn the ball over. That being said, I am leaning towards DeVito starting Sat.
