Who knows. Enes Kanter got ruled permanently ineligible and never got to play for Kentucky because the Turkish club he played for gave him $33k in benefits, for food, travel, educational expenses, etc. while playing with the team. He actually turned down a $6 million deal with the same team because he wanted to play in the NCAA. So while we like to think the NCAA has it out for us and gives blue bloods a pass, I think the more accurate read is that the NCAA is arbitrary, inconsistent, and has no problem screwing over athletes in pursuit of its own inane and incomprehensible agenda.
