If the OSU is mildly impressed with your hire you have hit a homer for sure.

Even the Michigan fans are arguing Harbaugh vs Lovie.

We have definitely rocked the Big 10

My Georgia bulldog cousin text me yesterday something new like this

Cousin-wtf. You guys are stupid for firing cubit now

3 hours later
Cousin-you guys are getting Lovie? No effing way. Damn, you guys are finally buying into some football. Me likey

From a Wisconsin board:

On a national level, do you not think Lovie is going to get into more top "living rooms" than Chryst? It won't be close.
It's not a positive for UW is my point. Probably could not have picked a worse outcome as far as affecting UW. But no it's not the end of the world and I never said it was. Hell of a hire, is all.

I have an important client meeting from 2:30 to 3:30pm tomorrow. Knowing my luck, the presser will be scheduled for 3:00pm.

NFL.com now reporting Lovie to be named our new HC. Just so much smoke....can't wait for this to get done.

I can't begin to put into words how exciting this is. To be so beat down as an Illini fan, feeling so empty as my ND, UM, tOSU friends constantly gloat and just look down their noses at the thought of Illinois ever being relevant. Now to be given this much hope. I just can't believe this is happening. Lovie, Freaking. Smith. As. UI's. Head. Football. Coach. !.

I'll believe this once the ink is dry on the contract. Lovie get 10 million the next 2 years from the Bucs if he just sits at home doing nothing.

I recall reading that he gets the diff from the Bucs. So, if IL pays him $2 mil/year, Bucs give him $8 mill for the next two years. Then he is on hi sown. Guess enough time to prove himself?

What in Lovie's career suggests to you that he would be interested in sitting at home and doing nothing?

I do not recall reading that but we'll see. I'm not saying it won't happen but as a life long Cub and Illini fan, I have become more of a pessimist when it comes to good news.

I think we're overlooking the importance of his children in this move. He's getting paid regardless, but his kids are so early in there career they need to continue to accrue coaching experience. This job guarantees that his kids have a job for as long as he's a HC. Now of the Illini can win and produce some NFL talent under his kids coaching, they can cement their own legacy.

Josh just tweeted a picture of him and Lovie at the football stadium, both in Illini gear. So I would call it a done deal.

This certainly looks encouraging, but until we've seen him coach an entire 12-game regular season, I'm not getting my hopes up that he's coming here.

I couldn't believe fully until this moment - I wanted to but I had to see Lovie in Illini O&B first!

What a great freakin way to put the first pic up!

Whitman is a freakin stud!

The communication strategy/roll-out has been interesting over the past 48 hours. Think it was 100% scripted?
