We were not out toughed..just didn't get any calls...there could have been a foul called on msu on every possession we had. That crew sucks..how is a flagrant 2 not originally called? With that said we make free throws and we still win..
No calls but we shot 34 free throws. Got it.

And they were out toughed. Michigan state came out physical and we didn’t. Any time a team plays us rough we get frustrated and can’t hit free throws

We didn't have a offensive game plan, no edge, lost people on defense, talked too much crap for getting our lunch taken from us, flat out laid a turd tonight. But....I think we can still win it all. Team needs to learn from this and flush it.

Sports writers loving this Illinois loss. Even if they win the rest of the week the Illini will be out of the top 12

Another poor perfomance after a dominating win. It has happened several times this year but they are teenagers so easy to get caught up in the hype.
Hopefully this leads to another long winning streak

We missed what, 12 bunnies in the first half? Giorgi gets his wide open dunk blocked. By the rim. Kofi never passed out of double and triples all night. Ayo with an off night no doubt. Miller Giorgi and DMW all no shows, Grandison not much help either. Not a recipe for victory. There will be more losses like this until some more people start stepping up.

I hate to be that guy but it sure seems like the B1G wanted to make sure Michigan State had a good chance at getting in. Refs were HORRENDOUS.

If we're looking for conspiracy theories (Kofi-anon anybody?), it probably also helps the B1G with any messy "who won the title in the regular season" as it give UM a little more cushion.

Yes. Kofi has made huge progress with his post footwork and finishing (tonight mostly excepted), but he has not made any progress yet on passing out of the post. Needs to happen.
This and a lack of a jump shot are why he needs to play another year. He should model his game after Azubuke

I know he works his FTs but I’m surprised the coaches haven’t been able to fix Kofi’s FT shot. It’s just not smooth. When he’s tired or frustrated it shows more. I can almost always tell if he’s going to make it just watching the way he shot it. Feet are too wide IMO and there’s a hitch before he releases. He’s never going to 80+% but could easily be 70-75.

Sorry to be a broken record... we struggle against long athletic guards (most teams do). Langford... rebounds. Henry... runners. Watts... over the smaller guards. We just don't match up well.
This a million percent. There’s a reason Miller doesn’t ever score. He has short arms and plays below the rim. Long athletic guards eat him up. Langford basically blocked all of Miller with one hand and the ball never touched the ground.

Not calling the flagrant on the guy who intentionally hit Kofi on the head was pretty bad. If it was reversed.......well, we have all seen what Kofi's arm landing on your noggin can do.
In a word... DAMAGE!!!

According to one of the announcers he’s a 70% free throw shooter. Think he got that confused with his FG percentage...

I personally hate the early substitutions when starters are playing well. 5-0 game subs come in less then 3 minutes in and turn it over 2 possessions in a row, don’t get back on defense and just like that it’s 10-5 them and chance of opening up a good lead gone.

I swear sometimes I think we're the worst top 10/5 team ever. No matter who we play I'm nervous because I know we could lose in an embarrassing fashion like tonight.
With all these ratings out there is there a volatility index? You can bet that Baylor and Gonzaga would hate to see us in their bracket because they might see the top Illinois team come in and beat them.

On the other hand, I can see us dropping a game against a 14 seed in the first round.

Yeah I've been perplexed by this all year. It doesn't seem like most college teams sub like that that early.

Yea, his NBA stock would be a lot higher if he showed that he could pass out of a double...he doesn't even make an effort. If all you can do is dunk, you won't be in the NBA long if at all. We all know, or assume, he will leave, but his game still needs a lot of work to play at the next level.
