I think they did $140,000 but that is probably change to him!I wish they had also docked him whatever percentage of his salary the 5 games comes to. Maybe hitting his pocketbook would wake him up a bit (although I doubt it).

Who in the PR department wrote it? I would like to see Howard personally make such a statement. I do not believe he could after seeing his reaction in the post game press conference. Would need a body language expert to interpret his real feelings if he were to give such a statement.Juwan Howard issues statement being suspended by Michigan

Michigan coach Juwan Howard apologized Monday for his actions following his team’s loss to Wisconsin on Sunday.
In a statement released Monday evening, Howard said he was “truly sorry” for how he had behaved in a scuffle during the postgame handshakes. He also apologized to Wisconsin assistant Joe Krabbenhoft, as well as to his players and Michigan fans. Howard added that he had to set a better example for his athletes, that there were no excuses, and that “this mistake will never happen again.”
Took him long enough!!!!!!!!
Because his publicist is slightly better at writing a statement, after running it by UM’s PR and Legal Departments for their edits, than he is at giving live answers right after it happened.Juwan Howard issues statement being suspended by Michigan

Juwan and Jenine Howard.Who would want their kid to play for a coach like that?
Not a snowballs chance in hell Juwan wrote that.
Reminds me of Urban Meyer grudgingly reading a statement of "contrition" after he got caught sweeping the antics of his wife-beating assistant coach under the rug at OSU.
This is quite a relief! The rumor was that the punishment would be Kofi would be suspended for three days and the Illini would be barred from post season.Yea...Griffin steps on an opponent...and 2 games I believe....Kofi sells a few jerseys, which is no longer illegal and gets 3 games...but jump into the middle of a brawl and throw some punches....1 game suspension.....f*@%ing ridiculous....fire everyone in the B10 office that had any part in this peace of sh*t decision.....would love for B10 to justify the reasoning behind the difference in these 3 infractions and the resulting suspensions....I'll hang up and wait for the call
Apparently, unlike the judicial system, the corrupt Big Ten administration does not believe in precedents. Diabate gets one game?No the Big Ten. "The Big Ten has suspended Illinois guard Alan Griffin two games after he stepped on Purdue's Sasha Stefanovic on Tuesday midway through the first half of the Illini's victory vs. the Boilermakers. The league reviewed the play and issued the suspension as well as a public reprimand, saying Griffin violated the Big Ten sportsmanship policy."
Are you suggesting they get a #1 seed ???IMO, what's worse is there has been no statement of remorse for Howard or the University.
Then they get off with a minor hand slap. I think the rest of the season for Howard, 1 for Gard, & 3 games for the players who threw punches.
Maybe the selection committee will do the right thing if Michigan is on the bubble
