Is there any chance the Bears are considering taking offers on Fields and taking a QB at #1 or #2 overall? Does Fields throw the ball accurately enough to be a franchise QB who can win you super bowls? I know his supporting cast is non existent but I still have my doubts. Halfway through this season I think the question would have been can you get a significant return for Fields? Turning Fields into multiple first round picks and building with Stroud or Young has to be thought about doesn’t it? Not very often you find (hopefully) you find yourself with a top 2 pick. Would take some serious guts from Poles, but he has shown he’s not afraid to make the tough decisions. This would be a whole different animal than moving on from Mack and Smith but I can see it.
Like any trade debate, it all depends on what you get in return. In my opinion, the Bears have to do whatever it takes to win up front, before they worry too much about who is the QB. Teams that win consistently protect their QB and pressure the opponent's QB.

Bears are 29th in sacks allowed, and dead last in sacks.

Chicago would be wise to look at how SF built their roster and follow suit. They are kicking people's butts regardless of who is taking the snaps, because they consistently control the line of scrimmage.

yup, keep Fields as long as you can until you have a decent line. maybe they try to get a #1 & #2 round (or even more) in a trade for someone for their soon to be #1 or #2 overall pick

you need to build a front 5 first . then the rest falls into place usually .

NFL has announced tonight that Bengals-Bills has been cancelled and will not be continued.

The NFL clubs will consider the following resolution from the Competition Committee:

Cancelling the game between the Bills and Bengals creates potential competitive inequities in certain playoff scenarios. In an effort to mitigate those inequities, NFL clubs will consider tomorrow in a Special League Meeting a resolution recommended by the Commissioner and approved today by the Competition Committee, consisting of two elements:

1 - The AFC Championship Game will be played at a neutral site if the participating teams played an unequal number of games and both could have been the number one seed and hosted the game had all AFC clubs played a full 17-game regular season. Those circumstances involve Buffalo or Cincinnati qualifying for the game as a road team and are listed below:

Scenario 1

Buffalo and Kansas City both win or both tie – a Buffalo vs Kansas City championship game would be at a neutral site.

Scenario 2

Buffalo and Kansas City both lose and Baltimore wins or ties – a Buffalo vs Kansas City championship game would be at a neutral site.

Scenario 3

Buffalo and Kansas City both lose and Cincinnati wins – a Buffalo or Cincinnati vs Kansas City championship game would be at a neutral site.

2 - If Baltimore defeats Cincinnati in Week 18 it will have defeated Cincinnati, a divisional opponent, twice but will not be able to host a playoff game because Cincinnati will have a higher winning percentage for a 16-game schedule than Baltimore will for a 17-game schedule.

If Baltimore defeats Cincinnati and if those two clubs are schedule to play a Wild Card game against one another, the site for that game would be determined by a coin toss. If Cincinnati wins the Week 18 game or if Baltimore and Cincinnati are not scheduled to play one another in the Wild Card round, the game sites would be determined by the regular scheduling procedures.

Indy and Detroit are out as a potential neutral site for AFC Championship game. Indy is out as Lucas Oil Stadium will be hosting a national volleyball tournament and the only possibility that an NFL game would have taken precedence is if the Colts were playing in the game. Detroit is out as Ford Field is scheduled to have a previously planned change out of the stadium's turf that is set to take place in mid-January. Since the Lions will finish as no better than the 7 seed in the NFC and won't play a home game the rest of the season, there would be no need to push back the turf change.

I just read that Chicago is being explored. It needs to be in a city relatively close to the likely potential cities that would be in it - as of this coming week

Hey we're only relying on Kirk Cousins not to blow it, what could possibly go wrong?
