Brian Barnhart's daughter had no idea that her father was the play-by-play guy for Illinois football when she planned her wedding smack dab in the midde of football season? If you plan to listen to the game on the radio, be aware that Brian Barnhart will not be there (his daughter is getting married). Scott Beatty has the call.
Tanner Heckel time to shineScott being out hurts, no doubt. Time for someone to step up.
Brian claims that she sought alternatives but that there were none available. First game that he's missed since 2002.Brian Barnhart's daughter had no idea that her father was the play-by-play guy for Illinois football when she planned her wedding smack dab in the midde of football season?![]()
Just thought it was a tweaked ankleI wonder what happened since 0440 said Scott was fine?
We should practice, but should use more bubble wrap for our players.
Heckel's a nickel. I think best case scenario is you have Clarke back and he takes Patterson's spot (opposite Cox, Heckel at STAR).Would love to see Miles Scott move down to nickel and heckel take Pattersons spot.
Without X that feels like the highest value moves.
I've always thought Patterson was going to wind up being really good. I hope this game is the start of that.Pray that juice Clarke can play and Patterson has a bounce back game.
The injury sucks but it’s time for the rest of the team to step up and find a way to win
OLine & SPECIAL TEAMS .We also need a very good Mac Resetich as well. We do get Aiden Dylan back. I believe the game will hinge on our O line.

Seems like there is funny business going on in the reporting of Clarke's injury as well. About a 0% chance he plays, IMO.Heckel's a nickel. I think best case scenario is you have Clarke back and he takes Patterson's spot (opposite Cox, Heckel at STAR).
vs Michigan, 1983 is still the gold standard of biggest games in Illini history.I know there are other games that can be mentioned. I know we played in a Rose Bowls and Sugar Bowl. I attended. But I think a solid argument can be made that this is Illinois’ biggest game in their history. We are in a new era of college football (post NIL). If we make CFP we are really putting the program in the top 15 nationally and top 5 in the BT. Truly moving in front of programs we aspired to be like in Iowa, Wisconsin and others. The recruiting benefits of making CFP and back to back 10 win seasons are big. We have a huge opportunity in front of us if we can beat Indiana.
