These stats for Kofi suggest that he actually should NOT pass. This year he is shooting 67% and his points/turnover ratio is positive. That's a pretty good argument for not passing. Hunter Dickinson has 18 assists this year, and is considered a good passer. That's less than an assist a game. We likely gain more by having Kofi singularly focused on scoring than worrying about passing, if the benefit of his passing is only, at best, 2 points a game.
This is correct...but that's not what I was responding to.

As someone pointed out on Twitter, if you watch the whole video, as everyone is whooping, jumping and running around, at :25, Giorgi comes running around without looking and his head nearly plows into Ayo's face at full speed.

We're actually 8 deep without Ayo:
1. Kofi
2. Grandison
3. DaMonte
4. Adam
5. Trent
6. Curbelo
7. Giorgi
8. Hawkins
Depends on your definition, I guess. Hawk gets a tad over 6 minutes per game. If that counts, then we have to count Williams for Meatchicken who gets 7 min. per game.

Sounds like Ayo is out tonight guys.
yep....almost everyone thought he was playing including ayo himself, guess they are holding him out until Saturday as the doctors did not clear him. It sucks and is a surprise, but it makes sense as they want him ready for Ohio State.
Every indication was that he was playing but in the end doctors want him to wait til Saturday

One of the Ann Arbor reporters suggested Hunter leads the team in hockey assists. Sounds like he's pretty smart at when to pass out - he just isn't hitting shooter pockets yet. Opposed to Kofi - who I'm pleasantly surprised at how on target some of his passes have been. Not saying Kofi should pass out more, but I think he has the precision to justify more passing.

This doesn't make sense to me? If it's Dr. directed...what would they need to wait til now to see??

why where does it say

Someone elaborated further on this after my post and they're not wrong.

I'm not sure why people always expect guys to name their source. People aren't going to do it.

I'm the same guy who first mentioned Ayo wouldn't play in the last two games I'm obviously not making it up.

🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️

I don't blame them. Information always comes in ebbs and flows and Ayo passed the tests so a lot of people thought he was going to play.

Similar to recruiting if the source information ends up being wrong or changes the person conveying that message will be wrong. It's why this board shoots the messenger more than they should IMO.

You are right about the transfers, and Dickinson is really good. They may be due for a clunker, but I doubt it is against the #2 team in the conference. They will want to make a statement. I hope it is a big-time performance on national TV. I also hope the officials don't have an effect on the game.
Hope the zebras let 'em play.

I’m hoping your source information is wrong lol

If Ayo and his family want him to play, my guess is he plays.

He's out. Too bad too since Michigan fans want this to be a rivalry so bad for some reason. Couldn't care less about them.

last year's kid was X(Z?)avier Simpson. Smith is probably an upgrade offensively, but defensively and team leadership, I think Simpson is a step above.

I've watched a fair bit of Michigan (wife is an alum..house divided tonight!) Very concerned about this game. As you mention, Dickinson changes the complexion of the team. Much like Kofi has done for us. They're just so balanced now. The range of PPG on their starting lineup is ~6pts. ours is 17. And of course, the high end of ours is a player that may not play or is coming back from injury. However, my biggest concern is the same issue we had with MSU and Maryland. Tall, athletic wings that can score. Livers and Wagner are those. Our only hope, imo, is to 1) find a way to shut them down (least likely, imo), 2) make it up by shutting down smith and dickinson (very possible) and/or 3) shoot lights out on the other end (possible).

I do think we have better depth though. Austin Davis has decent size and experience, but isn't a difference maker like Giorgi can be on certain nights. And they don't have anyone close to Belo coming off the bench. We get them in foul trouble (unlikely, but who knows) or make 'em run and get them tired, could pull this out.
Simpson was a bit of an overrated defender, but a very underrated offensive player. I think he was the most efficient PnR player of all Power-5 teams last year and carried their team. He's on a completely different level than Smith because he did everything better other than shoot better, it might not seem this way due to Smith's low usage on a better team.

Smith shouldn't be one of the main focuses because he's not as good as some people are making him out to be, but his danger comes from being the 4th option this year as opposed to the first option like Simpson has been for two years IMO. Illinois should be able to stymie his lack of size.

I know Michigan is better this year, but I really can't quite put my finger on why. Dickenson is an obvious upgrade over Teske. Is the transfer PG that much better than the little guy from last year (his name escapes me)?
Xavier Simpson was better than Mike Smith is. However, Michigan has gotten better with their bigs. Franz Wagner (6'9") is playing very well and to me is their energy guy. Austin Davis (6'10") is a scrapper and helps Hunter Dickenson (7'1") in the paint and they play together at times. So Damonte will be a HUGE liability defensively! Giorgi and Hawkins imo need to play a lot today! And defend and rebound. Hamlin also if necessary. We need length this game and imo I'd put DaMonte on Livers. And Trent on Brooks or Chaundee Brown. He's a bucket maker and hits the 3 at a nice clip! Do not leave them open from 3.
