There's always hope (albeit a slim one) to win that game that turns the season around. We have some tough games in our near future. We need to win against Minny, then follow up with two challenging home games. I guess hope springs eterrnal. We need to run the offense through Tomi and hope KJ recovers some of that early season mojo.

Granted, we are not Top 20 KenPom consistently lately. We were Top 10 KenPom for a long while.

Gotta get healthy. KJ's gotta get on track. Gotta work it inside as we did v. tOSU.

I'll be in the Garden on the 22nd. I expect to see us play well on that big stage. It's mostly sunk costs at this point, of course, except for the gas and the I-95 tolls, but I'm not surrendering confidence, let alone hope. ;)

Regardless, it's a ride this season, isn't it?! Literally game to game. The Forrest Gump '24-'25 campaign.

However: not yet ready to say "I'm pretty tired... I think I'll go home now."
Yeah, I don't think I'll ever go home now. Too many years (decades actually) where I was only able to see the Beloved play once, maybe twice a year on tv. To be able to watch every game? I'll enjoy and suffer the highs and lows just like others here based on the team's results. But I'll never leave them. I'm an Illini for Life (tm).

Sounds like Tomi might see limited action at best, Dra has flue, Tre is still recovering from the flu. This team just can't get healthy at the toughest part of the schedule. I think Gophers take them down behind Garcia-Gophers 81- Illini 72

Big Ten Network's Robbie Hummel criticizes Illinois' 3-point strategy as 'hard to watch'

It is hard to watch. Robbie is great, drives me nuts with his growing arrogance, but here he is dead-on.

(I am responding and reacting to Epsilon's post, immediately above this).
At this point even Steve Wonder should be able to come to that conclusion after hearing all the clinging sounds following our 3 point shot attempts.😀

Woke up very nervous about today’s game. I still think we can be a very dangerous team in March. But we have to figure some stuff out. And we don’t have much time here.

Morez staying on the floor is huge today.

If anyone here is confident we’re winning straight up let alone covering 8.5, I’d love to know why.

I'd argue the jury is still out on this one.
Re Brad's willingness to make changes/adjustments, my 2 cents is that there are two widely differing answers:

BU's big picture willingness to adjust philosophy/strategy has often been good. He dumped the full court pressure D once he realized that would not work and the Big 10; he realized the importance of recruiting a senior-filled roster (for last year at least - not sure what happened with that this year), he began recruiting toward positional length, he has recruited the world, and more.

But as this board has hashed out many times, in-game adjustments are seemingly questionable due to his stubbornness. Do we remember how the first half of the UConn game went last year, when the strategy was to drive it right at Clingan, only for him to block everything that came his way? Brad then made it clear during one of his sideline interviews (paraphrasing) 'we're not going to change a thing, going to keep taking it right at him'? He got roasted on the national scene for that.

In my view, two different questions, two different answers in terms of his ability to adjust and change.

Such a depressing type of game. Lose, and we have officially forfeited all “big goals” for this season. Win, and … great?
It’s clear by now that this is not an elite 8 team. So I will treat each individual game as an opportunity for a win.

I do think injuries are an excuse. Only coaching flaw I have seen is the lack of development of boothe. We could use his inside presence. But he has been a non factor

Have you watched us inbounds the ball this year or are you to distracted by the constant in game adjustments?
