By all means go, particularly because we will crush them this time. It's a great place to see a game. No bad seats, really, just an open, single-level horseshoe. Bring earplugs, though, because the new (as of ~ '22) gigantic video board blares the train horn incessantly.

We attended the game in Sep23. Park in the Northwestern Avenue Garage @ NW Ave and Grant Street. You can pay online in advance IIRC. It's a breeze to get from there to the game, only a 10-min walk. Just about the most convenient parking location I've found for out-of-towners at road games in the BT.

If you're looking for a good breakfast location try Town & Gown Bistro, a 15-min walk from the NW Garage down to River Road @ State. Because of the noon kickoff it may be packed early but we had a great little meal there.
Appreciate the information. I was able to reserve parking in the NW Garage even at this late date. Looks like Saturday is going to be another nice day!

On the road? Isn't it a home game for them?
I don't know who the guy is that wrote the article, but he's not exactly Peter King.

He spells Beatty, sometimes with one T and other times with two. He uses words like "goodish" and analyzes defensive coverage like he's talking to a middle school football team. And apparently doesn't know where the game is.

While Bret has made tons of progress here, we have a few spots where we are "thin" on the talent side. D Line seems to be one of those spots. Jacas is a great player, but we don't have that 2nd guy that can create consistent havoc on his one to go along with him. When you just have one guy it's much easier to contain that guy than if you have 1 stud & another pretty good pass rusher. Of course those guys aren't a dime a dozen so it's hard to find them.

Of course we'd all like the defense to be a shut down D, I do think Henry does a pretty good job of scheming around some of their shortcomings. That bend/don't break style is mind numbingly frustrating to watch at times, but I'd rather make the other team string together plays than give up the 70 yarder due to a blitz that doesn't get home.

Get a D line that has a couple havoc creators, it changes the game entirely.
Love this post. Spot on.

"Out of USC, Notre Dame, and Illinois, Purdue has a better shot at beating the Fighting Illini because there is a possibility that the Boilermakers can outscore them."

What an insightful comment! /s

Isn't the the ability to outscore your opponent the definition of a win?

The Boilers got 'nothin!

They're also apparently playing on the road in West Lafayette.

Classic Madden type comment.

That fumble was a shame because it’s what will be remembered. I thought he looked like he was shot out of a cannon on that particular run and he deserved a better result. He’ll learn.

"That fumble was a shame because it’s what will be remembered."

Yeah, maybe . . .

More likely though, Ca'Lil Valentine will have enough good plays so it will be one bad blip in a memorable Illini career.

Valentine is still universally beloved by Illini fans. Like backup QB when your starter is playing terrible 'loved'.

Look for another big game and for Ca'Lil to bust a 25+ yard TD run. Guy is electric

Fumbles happen…. to every RB. Both Feagan and
Valentine. First for each…. why is this even coming up🙄
I don’t think anyone is complaining about them being ineffective running backs! It just so happens that both fumbles came at super unlucky times and turned what could have been a comfortable win into a nail biter.

Of course, the “win” part is all that matters now! 😜😎

I get that and yes, move on and win!!!
Now, there are some critical posts prior to the last few pages…. I think those comments were a touch out of line regarding the history of both players!
Carry on… enjoy our upcoming game! Win it!

Are you serious? They both happened inside the 5 yard line and Feagin's happened inside the 1. We should have been in firm control at halftime and we would have focused on running the clock out at the end of the 4th quarter, even with a field goal.

If Altmyer didn't resurrect us, that would have gone down as one of, if not the, most terrible losses in our history. Just because all turned out well, doesn't mean those two plays weren't utter disasters. That simply can't happen again and you can't just forget they happened.

Because they almost cost you a game in one of the most disastrous ways I can remember. There's fumbles... and then there's game swinging, catastrophic fumbles in the endzone, in the 4th quarter when the game is effectively over.

No one's saying their not good players, but no doubt something that needs to corrected with utmost importance.
