Illinois hasn't had more than 1 on the road flop in any year under Bielema. This game should at least be close and I like the experience Illinois has over Washington down the stretch.
Interesting point that seems to be over looked!
add in how much this game means to this team!
Bye week is a plus for us. Healthy minus x.
I feel pretty good with our team winning this one!

It's a classic "swing game" that could send the winner on a path to a great season and leave the loser trying to pick up the pieces. I didn't read through the entire thread of 14 pages, but it's worth noting that Washington is dealing with significant injuries. Following the Michigan game, two key tight ends, Quentin Moore and Kade Eldridge, are out. The team will now rely on two true freshmen, Baron Naone and Austin Simmons, to fill their roles. Additionally, two injured offensive linemen, Carver Willis and John Mills, are reportedly game-time decisions for this week.

I think it is insane if anyone watch us and Washington Play and know what we have been without in our secondary vs IU. IU is the best team on our conference and likely the conference. We are on par with OSU and we moved the ball. We can not turn it over 3 or 4 times and expect to win but I want to play OSU again. I think we are between 2 and 5 in the conference is we play clean game. If we do that we beat Washington by 2 tds

I’m hoping we get a repeat of last year and this is where we flip the switch and start mashing people with our o line. I think UW seems like a good candidate to impose our will physically and sounds like the weather could slow down the passing game.

I think if we win the trenches we win the game.
As others have pointed out, it looks like this will be played in the rain. You always worry about the passing game with a slick ball.

Our tight ends need to have a field day in this game with receptions to loosen up their tall CBs . Then we can do whatever Lunney decides.

It’s raining here now and should be throughout the weekend. Bring a parka to the game no matter what it’s like in the morning.

The disrespect in videos like these are insane to me. If only we win this Saturday against a good but unranked Washington, 10-2 is very much a possibility, maybe even likely. Michigan needs to win out, including a game against Ohio State to even have a chance. USC needs to win out, including a game @Oregon for even a chance. The fact that we aren't even in the discussion for the 4th spot is honestly hysterical.

He also said a 2 loss Oregon is out of CFP. He doesn’t know what he is talking about.

This forecast looks a lot like Central Illinois in November

Gonna be interesting, offenses practice against similar fronts and defenses. Can see both teams having success. Offensive lines success too. but rain might even it out a bit.

I thought the same thing when a relatively young Tom Brady came to Soldier Field around 2010-2011. Heavy snow. I believe he passed for 400 yards and the Bears got blown out. I can recall the announcers saying "...huge advantage for the offense in rainy/wet conditions, because the receivers know where they're going, when they're cutting, and when the ball is arriving."

Mike White also thought a little rain did not hurt the passing game. Hopefully it leads to Washington turning over the ball early and often

Is the stadium THAT much of an advantage? I’ve never been, but am skeptical that it presents a tougher environment than happy valley or Nebraska last year.

Ryan Walters is a jackass, but he does still scare me.
Do those stadiums have rain shields reflecting sound from the stadium back down onto the field?

Stadium noise is a factor here.

I think you’re a tad regionally biased. 😜 At a certain point, an intense environment above a certain level is just an intense environment. Maybe Washington is literally the hardest place to play ever, I’d believe it! The point is these guys have gone into some hostile environments and not been rattled. If PSU is an A and Washington is an A+, I still don’t think we’ll be rattled.
