Limiting Tracy's practice time? Is there a physical problem here? That could explain a lot.

His practice and game time needs to be limited coming off an ACL and Achilles surgery. His legs are gone.

Iowa + 5.5 vs Illinois. The line is exactly where I thought it would be.

This game brings more questions than answers.

Iowa is 0-4 on the road losing by an avg of 18 a game.
Iowa is 3-12 ATS last 15 Big 10 Games.
Iowa averages 81 points a game.
Iowa beat Purdue- I know it was at home but it was Purdue

Illinois has lost 18 games of the last 25 in Big 10 play dating back to last season.

So why are these statistics important ? It shows 2 teams struggling.

Iowa is a scrappy team lead by Peter Jok at 21 a game. Illinois defense is a joke and Iowa should get to at least 78 points.

Illinois has had some very intensive practices this week but for Illinois practice it never translates to game time. Yes they are at home.

In my mind this is a pure pick-em game. I am not going to wager on this game cause I am to close to it. If Illinois loses this game the Dumpster Fire will get bigger for the Coach.

Count me in the pathetic camp too.

We should be doing inspirations stuff with ladders when we make the dance. Then we could use that same ladder to cut down nets. We won't be doing that any time soon.

Hmmm... the ladder is laying down. Maybe it's broken. Is that the problem:confused:

I expect the Illini to win this game tomorrow. There. I said it.

Iowa is a bad defensive team and the Illini are playing at SFC. Could go very much like the home game against Michigan. Iowa is also having its own share of problems on the B1G road.

Illinois -6 or -5.5 seems reasonable.

As for the tourney, certainly mathematically there are plenty of games left in the season. The Illini could still drop games against Minnesota and Wisconsin at home and win 11 games. Drop another one of your choice, say @Northwestern and the Illini could still win 10. But that puts real importance on winning this game against Iowa and then finally winning on the road @PSU.

WVC ranked the remaining games this way:

Iowa
@Rutgers
Penn State
Minnesota
@Iowa
@Nebraska
Michigan State
Northwestern
@Penn State
@Northwestern
Wisconsin

Toughest part other than Wisconsin at home is beating some teams on the road. Minnesota and Michigan State at home will be tough, but that's not a killer schedule.

If you want something to think about, imagine the seniors getting it together on a shear will to win and manage to will the team to 10 B1G wins and a game or two in the BTT to get an NCAA bid... I didn't think that Beckman's last team really had a probable shot at beating PSU and Northwestern at the end of the season to get to a bowl game either...

If the team "quits" on Groce instead then it could go totally off the rails with a final regular season loss @Rutgers where the Illini needed 3 OTs to win last year.

For the record, I don't think Groce is "the guy" to bring the program back to relevance, but the thought of Malcolm Hill playing four years for the Illini and never playing in an NCAA tourney game is really tough...

Go Illini!

It's hilarious watching people rip apart Groce's comments after almost any interview. He's been saying/doing the same stuff since he got here. When he was known as JFG everybody loved that stuff and now it's so "cliche" or "coach speak". Moral of the story...press conferences mean almost nothing.

Are you saying those minutes have been limited all season long? I am trying to understand the complete collapse of his shooting percentages. He did not miss wide open threes in the pre-season, but he is missing them now. My gut tells me something has changed, but then again my gut knows about as much about basketball as does the rest of me :huh:

Here's how I would rank the remaining games in terms of likelihood of victory:

Iowa
@Rutgers
Penn State
Minnesota
@Iowa
@Nebraska
Michigan State
Northwestern
@Penn State
@Northwestern
Wisconsin

The crazy thing no-one would be shocked if we went 3-8, but with those teams at least in theory you could imagine the team winning 9 or even 10. In theory. But maybe not in Iowa City, Lincoln, Evanston or Happy Valley.

Can't remember exactly which game it was, but my best guess is Missouri, he lunged to steal a pass along the sideline and when he tried to recover and get back he seemed to pause and took a lot longer than normal to get back up. My first thought was, hope he didn't re-injure anything. Saw something similar the next game. I've been thinking for a while now that something is wrong.

I'm blown away by all of the "I'm not watching" or "I'm trying to find something else." No matter how bad it gets, this is your team, right?

Don't worry, whenever the day comes the program gets back to the level you think it should be, we'll let all of you "fans" back on the bandwagon.

I for one, will be cheering like crazy for the Orange and Blue regardless of who is the coach and what their record is, game in and game out, through the good times and the bad.

True character (or fandom) is revealed when the chips are down, it was easy being a "fan" in '05, just ask Bill Murray.

Simply put, Go Illini, beat Iowa!

With you 100%- true fans take the bad with the good- We Will Win! :shield:

We've got to be the laughingstock of the NCAA with worthless stunts like this. It's just embarrassing.

Meh, no one actually cares about this stuff. If they win, it's genius. If they lose, it's the stupid.

Using Socratic logic and the tourney resume cited above, Caesar has to give this a thumbs down.

Total tangent: wish we had a Caesar emoticon, one with a thumbs up, one with a thumbs down. Given this season, maybe one with him squatting and some brown in the back too.

Can we not do the 'true fans' thing? That's just baloney.

No it's not "baloney". The words for people who only support their team when it is winning is "bandwagon jumpers."

I don't disagree about not feeling as strongly about watching every game, I am simply stating I agree that to be a true fan means you suffer when the team is down.

Quick!! Someone better stand that ladder upright!!

With our luck, 3 players will trip on it and tear something

Next to the dates you could put coaching cues....

Jan. 24 install a working offensive system

Jan. 25th BEAT Iowa

Jan. 26th teach team how defend

Jan. 27 teach team how to rebound

Repeat until tourney time.... Go Illini!!!!

There's, uh, no shortage of suffering around here.
