The one day per year that their Rip Van Winkle fan base awakens from its decades-long coma?
Maybe I haven't encountered their fandom enough here in Central Illinois.I can live with the cardinals love, I cannot live with you not hating mizzou. Please reassess.

Garris 90% FT shooterI have been to more than 25 of these games, and I can predict that there will be very good seats available from scalpers outside the venue. My son and I went this route for some years, and got some amazing seats, including a year that I sat with the Mizzou football team and coach around us (Coach Pinkel right behind us, and a starting WR next to me, the governor one row ahead of us.) The best seats going cheap are available when there is bad weather, so there could be some good deals this year. Of course, you will have to brave the cold and snow to buy them, but it is a much cheaper opportunity to get discounted good seats. As game time nears, scalpers unload what they have left. For the game itself, all bets are off on this game. I've seen both sides win with inferior teams. The best game I've seen, albeit with a disappointing result, was the triple OT game in 1993 - 108-107 MIZZOU.
Love that history. Thanks. You're right: KC is on the Plains. Very different place. I've always been a big fan of it and its Kansas burbs. Interesting state, and quite culturally varied. The Missouri-Kansas animosity, dating to the Missouri Compromise and the violence that accompanied it, makes the Braggin' Rights rivalry look like a sewing circle! The State of Missouri is a couple of States in one.
St. Louis developed as sort of “most Western ‘Eastern’-type city” back in the 1800s. And if not for some political blunders in that mid-Century that allowed Chicago to blow past it in power and influence... St. Louis might have been the ‘Chicago’ of today.
Kansas City is more of a Western town. Different kind of development.
St. Louis is National League and was NFL. Kansas City is American League and AFL (AFC). St. Louis got the hockey team and KC missed on getting one (most recently). Both have pretty much failed at pro hoops.
And Northern Missouri is Iowa-like while Southern Missouri is Arkansas-Southern like.
The State purportedly is unified by Mizzou. But the Mizzou footballers and roundballers haven’t exactly been World-beaters in recent years. Passion a bit lacking.
Missouri doesn’t like that they could have been the power that Illinois became – but didn’t. St. Louis for a time thought of itself as approaching a World-Class City status... and quickly lost that after the 1904 World’s Fair. Chicago became that World-Class City which it retains even with its significant problems today.
So Missouri has ‘reasons’ not to like the Illini... and the Illini has no reason to be enamored at all with Mizzou. This shared dueling histories is deep in both our DNAs and makes for one hell-of-a good basketball rivalry.
And the epicenter is in The Lou and Metro East where hot court action always burns bright.
What 'Could Have Been' vs. 'What IS'... that always gets the energy going.
Most importantly the strength of schedule is something to consider. They’ve played mostly cupcakes except UCF and Kansas. So yeah their steak and turnover numbers, as well as scoring is gonna look a little inflatedTempo and turnovers are the key for this game. Missouri likes to force turnovers and Illinois likes to give the ball away. If Illinois controls the turnovers/press/tempo than they control this game.
Scoring Defense per game
Missouri 75.0 308th
Illinois 62.1 42nd
Steals per game
Missouri 12.7 1st
Illinois 8.3 71st
Turnovers forced per game
Missouri 20.09 7th
Illinois 16.73 38th
Turnovers per game
Missouri 12.9 T-165th
Illinois 15.1 309th

Incredible ribs...Pappy's.... I got all the grillers/BBQers in my family Pappy's rub and bbq sauce for Christmas.

Honestly not bad, I get the impression St. Louis and its infrastructure is just poorly equipped for snow - JUST far enough south that it isn’t “part of life” in the winter. It reminds me of Indianapolis, where my sister lived for nine years and change. What's the weather like there?
Lol, the first one was our Plan A tonight! They closed, unfortunately.I'm a Favazza's or Anthonino's guy...
