No doubting Thomas: Blues rally to beat Wild in OT
Victory pulls the team into second-place tie with Wild, who have a game in hand.

There can be no debate, the Blues have had Minnesota’s number under coach Craig Berube.
And after Friday’s 4-3 overtime triumph over the Wild at Enterprise Center, the number is 12. The Blues are 12-1-2 against the Wild since Berube replaced Mike Yeo as coach in November 2018.
It took quite a bit of work to get there Friday. For the first time this season the Blues overcame a two-goal deficit in the third period to win a game. And then, of course, they had to actually do something in OT.
A refresher course: The Blues were 1-7 in OT this season prior to Friday, the worst record in the league. The Wild were 7-1 in OT this year, the second-best record in the league.
But there was no doubting Thomas on this night. Robert Thomas that is. He scored the game-winner at the 1:27 mark of extra time — his 17th goal of the season — on a beautiful high-speed feed from Vladimir Tarasenko.
“It was a good speed play,” Berube said. “Thommer came off the bench and got the puck in our own zone and he transports it with speed up the ice ... and then Vladi made a great read on it. Vladi was looking to shoot but he saw Thommer slide over there and made a great play.”
Thomas, who extended his career-long point streak to eight games, then beat Minnesota goalie Cam Talbot backdoor to send another sellout crowd of 18,096 home happy.
