Pru, you’re the expert here on this subject. Who’s the new reporter? Who did she replace?

Emily Stephens. Don't know that she's actually replacing anyone perse (more on that below). The Cardinals website lists her as a Multimedia Video Communications Specialist. She is a reporter/producer who does video features on the Cardinals website, social media channels, and the Cardinals Insider TV show.

Per Dan Caesar of the Post-Dispatch, Jim Hayes has a family function to attend this weekend so that's why Emily is working the Friday and Sunday games in this series. Tom Ackerman will be calling both games of the Kansas City series this upcoming week.

From yesterday's paper.......................................

O’Neill stops activities, Carlson to start them

Outfielder Tyler O’Neill has halted his baseball activities back in St. Louis as he and the team determine the next step in what’s become an extended recovery from a lower back strain. O’Neill missed his 18th game Tuesday and did not take batting practice as hoped Monday or moved closer to a rehab assignment that was already delayed.

TON is an injury prone player who has had 1 semi-great year out of numerous years of prolonged IL duration......................
Geez. All that talent. What is it with this guy? (O’Neill)

Cardinals lead 3-1 top of the 5th with a guardians pitching change cause the Cardinals have gotten solo homers
from Alex Burleson , Andrew Knizner and Paul Goldschmidt ........

Still 3-1 Cardinals going into bottom of the 5th...................

no coverage of the Indy 500 in the paper today is kinda puzzling..........................3 red flags and a 1 lap runoff......figured it would garner some coverage ...............JMHO

Not sure if this is pre- or post yesterday, but Cards lead the majors in blown saves: 24 save opportunities and 12 blown saves. Helsley has blown 4 of 10 opportunities, while Hicks and Pallante have each blown 2 of 2. We definitely need a starter or two, but if we can’t get a lockdown closer, we’re not going anywhere.

Just imagine if we’d only blown half of those 12 lost saves. We’d be 30-25 and leading the Central. 🤬
